Reports: Bucks finalizing deal with veteran Danilo Gallinari

The veteran forward plans to sign with Milwaukee to reunite with coach Doc Rivers.

A career 38.2% 3-point shooter, Danilo Gallinari is making 35.5% of his threes this season in about 15 minutes per game.

Veteran forward Danilo Gallinari is finalizing a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gallinari considered several teams, according to Charania – including the LA Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls – before choosing Milwaukee, where he’ll reunite with coach Doc Rivers.

Gallinari began the season in Washington after missing all of last season with a torn left anterior cruciate ligament and played 26 games off the bench for the Wizards before being traded to the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 14. He appeared in six games with the Pistons before being waived on Feb. 8.

The 35-year-old has played with seven teams during his 16-year career, averaging 15.2 points and 4.7 rebounds. He was originally drafted No. 6 overall by the Knicks in the 2008 NBA Draft.
