Nothing gets you more in the mood to hit the court than watching your favorite players at the start of a new season. And whether you’re looking for your first ever pair of basketball shoes, or searching for a worthy upgrade, we’ve gathered all of the latest basketball sneakers to launch from your favorite sneaker brands this fall.
From the latest edition of Witness, with the LeBron-approved Max Air cushioning, to the Donovan Mitchell D.O.N retro-inspired Utah sneakers from Adidas, here are some of our favorite new basketball sneakers that will have you looking great the next time you take the court.
The LeBron Witness 6 is a reiteration of the more traditional Witness models. This time around, Nike has adapted them to the man himself’s favorite – Max Air cushioning, providing a much more comfortable and responsive bounce and support. It’s lightweight, and features a reinforced mesh upper, while the visible webbing harness the overhead of the foot. They even have a durable rubber outsole with a herringbone traction pattern for a firm grip on the court.
The Kyrie 7s are a must-have for any Kyrie Irving stan. Just as good at designing shoes as he is on the court, this next-gen basketball sneaker features mesh details that wrap around your feet to provide a more snug fit, which, paired with the lace feed through the molded fins, allow you to lace up comfortably. The forefoot of these Air Zoom Turbo is curved and is super flexible, so you can pull off in various directions and not be held back or restricted.
With durability at the forefront of the design process, Under Armor’s Lockdown 5 Basketball Shoes have a TPU film toe cap to provide additional protection on the court. The air mesh tongue is breathable and fits comfortably, paired with the plush sockliner designed to maintain shape and cushion your feet all day. These shoes even have an anti-odor technology already applied to the sockliner to discourage bacteria and odor-causing microbes from growing.
Made to match his home jersey colors, Donovan Mitchell’s D.O.N. Issue #3 was crafted with fans at center thought. The recognizable white, green, yellow, and blue welcome a nostalgic image to Utah fans, but even if you aren’t particularly a Jazz fan, these sneakers look great on the court or in the streets. They’re made with lace closure and elastic gore straps, an abrasive-resistant TPU toe cap, lightstrike cushioning, and the Donovan Mitchell “Spida” logo is showcased on the textile upper.
Sustainability is the way forward, which is exactly what Adidas and Damian Lillard had in mind when working on the Dame 7 EXTPLY shoes. Crafted from recycled content as part of their goal to end plastic waste, 20% of the pieces used to make the uppers are made with a minimum of 50% recycled contents. They have a supportive feeling from the lightstrike cushioning.
The RS-Dreamer sneakers are finally available in new colorways. The bold sneaker merges street trends with the practicality of traditional basketball shoes. The dynamic lacing system has a midsole lockdown to ensure a secure fit. The RS-Dreamers features the iconic RS foam cushioning in the midsole, plus ProFoam, which is super lightweight and provides great feedback. At the heel, you can see the J. Cole Dreamer emblem and the RS-D branding at the tongue.
