The Memphis Grizzlies and Memphis Redbirds are once again teaming up to host "Grit and Grind Night" at AutoZone Park on Thursday, Aug. 25, when the Redbirds host the Nashville Sounds at 7:05 p.m. as part of the Grizzlies' 2016 Regional Caravan Tour presented by Ghost River Brewing.
The Grizzlies' 2016 NBA Draft first-round pick, Wade Baldwin IV, is scheduled to be on-hand to sign autographs and throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game. Also scheduled to appear for autographs is Grizzlies guard/forward and former Univ. of Memphis Tiger alum D.J. Stephens.
In addition, the Redbirds will be wearing all-new collectible Grizzlies-themed jerseys, which will be auctioned during the game with proceeds benefiting both the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation and the Redbirds Community Fund. Jersey winners will be notified when the auction ends, and they will be brought onto the field to get an autograph from the Redbird player whose jersey they won. Baldwin IV’s and Stephens’ jerseys will also be auctioned and signed.
The first 5,000 fans into AutoZone Park will receive a one-of-a-kind Redbirds and Grizzlies logoed commemorative "Growl Towel," presented by AutoZone. A pregame party in the left field picnic area will feature a live DJ and appearances by the Claw Crew, Grizzline, Grannies and Grandpas and the Blue Bunch.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the first pitch activities will begin at 7:05 p.m.
