Memphis Grizzlies acquire draft rights to Jake LaRavia and future second round pick from Minnesota Timberwolves

Grizzlies Trade Draft Rights to Walker Kessler and TyTy Washington to Timberwolves

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the team acquired the draft rights to forward Jake LaRavia (luh-RAY-vee-uh), the No. 19 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and a future second round draft pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 2022 draft rights to center Walker Kessler (No. 22 overall) and guard TyTy Washington (No. 29 overall).

LaRavia (6-7, 235) was 2021-22 All-ACC Second Team selection after averaging 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.67 steals in 34.1 minutes while shooting 55.9% from the field and 38.4% from 3-point range in 33 games (all starts) during his junior year at Wake Forest. He led the Demon Deacons in rebounding and steals and ranked second in scoring, assists and blocks (0.97).

The 20-year-old Pasadena, Calif., native spent his first two collegiate seasons at Indiana State before transferring to Wake Forest.
