Jamaal Franklin and Janis Timma Headline Summer Squad

MEMPHIS, July 11, 2013 – The Memphis Grizzlies announced the team’s 2013 NBA Summer League roster, headlined by second-year guard Tony Wroten and 2013 NBA second round draft picks Jamaal Franklin (No. 41 overall) and Janis Timma (No. 60 overall).  Three forwards from the 2012-13 Grizzlies roster – Jon LeuerDonté Greene and Willie Reed – also will join the summer league squad.

The Grizzlies will compete in the 2013 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas at the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Grizzlies assistant coach Bob Thornton will coach Memphis’ summer league team and will be assisted on the sidelines by Lloyd PierceDuane TicknorJason March and Steve Jones.

Memphis will open its summer league schedule with preliminary contests on Saturday, July 13 vs. Chicago and Sunday, July 14 vs. Cleveland, which will both be broadcast live on NBA TV at 7 p.m. CT, and will conclude its preliminary schedule on July 16 vs. Phoenix.  Following the preliminary slate, the Grizzlies will enter a tournament-style schedule that will crown the first-ever NBA Summer League Champion on Monday, July 22.

The NBA Summer League 2013 in Las Vegas will feature 22 teams competing in a 61-game schedule from July 12-22 at the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.  In addition to a full slate of games on NBA TV, all NBA Summer League games once again will be available via the NBA Summer League Live subscription package on NBA.com and NBA Mobile.
