Big plans for fans to send Big Memphis into the Playoffs with Grizz Week beginning April 10

Fans encouraged to rep the Grizzlies all week long; Grizz Week Wraps Up with a Plaza Party on Grizz Day, April 14; Tickets For Home Games 1 and 2 go on sale Friday, April 7, at 10 a.m.

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies want Grizz Nation to celebrate the start of the 2023 NBA Playoffs with Grizz Week, April 10-14. Grizz Week, presented by Orion and your Mid-South Ford Dealers, includes five days of fan-friendly, Grizzlies-themed events throughout the Mid-South, culminating with a Plaza Party on Friday, April 14 from 4-6 p.m. 

First Round Playoff tickets for Home Games 1 and 2 go on sale this Friday, April 7. Tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster by going online to grizzlies.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-4-NBATIX. To celebrate playoff tickets going on sale, fans can join us for lunch on the Big River Steel Plaza at FedExForum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The party will feature food trucks (Collins Lemonade, The Genre, El Mero and MemPops), DJ Mic Tee, inflatable games and more.  

SHOW YOU’RE WITH US! – APRIL 10

In partnership with Memphis Travel, to recognize and promote the upcoming 2023 NBA Playoffs and record-breaking Grizzlies season, the Grizzlies are asking Memphis and Mid-South businesses, civic entities, partners and friends to show they are with the Grizzlies by tipping off Grizz Week on Monday, April 10. Grizz Nation is asked to turn as many lights, LEDs, signs and more Grizzlies blue and gold throughout the Playoff run. Neighborhoods, individual households, apartment complexes, retail, dining, entertainment establishments, local business and buildings are also encouraged to show their fandom by posting photos and videos of their Blue and Gold Grizz love to Twitter, Instagram & Facebook, tagging @memgrizz and using the hashtag #BigMemphis. Select fan posts will be reposted and retweeted throughout the week.

NON-PROFIT SPIRIT DAY – APRIL 11

Wanting the local philanthropic community to join in the fun of sending the Grizzlies into the Playoffs, Non-Profit Spirit Day has been added to Grizz Week this year, happening on Tuesday, April 11. Non-Profits are encouraged to participate by showing their ‘Non-Profit Spirit’ in whatever way works for them – wearing Grizz gear, decorating the office in blue and gold, dressing up with Grizzlies logos and jerseys – then posting it to social media and tagging @memgrizz (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) with the hashtag #BigMemphis. All posts made by Tuesday, April 11 at 5 p.m. will be eligible to win a $2,023 donation to the organization that shows the most Grizz Spirit. 

PLAYOFF SWAG PICK-UP DAYS – APRIL 11 & APRIL 13

The Grizzlies will once again provide Swag to Grizz Nation throughout the city, and fans can visit one of the Playoff Swag Pick-Up sites, presented by Orion and your Mid-South Ford Dealers, to grab some Grizz gear in preparation for Grizz School Spirit Day and Grizz Day.

GRIZZLIES SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY – APRIL 12

Along with the rePRESENT school takeover, presented by Delta Dental, in partnership with Mid-South School districts, the Grizzlies are getting students, teachers and administrators excited for the upcoming playoffs with Grizzlies School Spirit Day on Wednesday, April 12. One lucky school will win $2,023 for classroom supplies. 

In order to participate, schools are encouraged to show their Grizzlies school spirit in their own way. Students and teachers can dress up with Grizz gear and Grizz colors or decorate their classroom Grizzlies style with logos and by highlighting the blue and gold. To enter, schools only need to post photos from their Sprit Day and tag @memgrizz on any social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) and use the hashtag #BigMemphis. All posts must be submitted by Wednesday, April 12 by 5 p.m. and participants can post as many entries as they like. 

GRIZZ DAY – APRIL 14

To round out the week, the Grizzlies are asking local businesses, as well as the local community as a whole, to turn their casual Friday into ‘casual Grizzday’ on Friday, April 14. The Grizzlies want to see fans all over Memphis and the Mid South sporting their Grizz gear and then showing it off on social media. Grizz Nation should lead the way and encourage their co-workers, friends and family to ‘wear the bear’ and show their Grizzlies spirit on Friday of Grizz Week. Both individuals and businesses can show their spirit on Grizz Day by posting individual and/or company photos and videos to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, tagging @memgrizz and using the hashtag #BigMemphis. Select posts will be reposted and retweeted throughout the day in celebration and recognition.

Also on Friday, April 14, Grizz Nation is invited to FedExForum for a Plaza Party from 4-6 p.m. The party will feature the final playoff swag pick-up, food trucks (Collins Lemonade, The Genre, NLE’s This Can’t Be Vegan and MemPops), playoff giveaways (sunglasses, koozies and posters), live music by Corey Lou & da Village, games and more on the Big River Steel Plaza.

Dates and times of home playoff games for the Grizzlies, who are making their third consecutive trip to the NBA Playoffs and 13th postseason appearance in franchise history, will be announced at a later date. The 2023 NBA Playoff promotional schedule, including watch parties and plaza parties, will be released in the upcoming weeks.
