Grizzlies acquire 2014 second round pick and trade exception from 76ers

MEMPHIS, August 22, 2013 – The Memphis Grizzlies acquired a 2014 conditional second round pick and a trade exception from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for guard Tony Wroten, the team announced.

Drafted by Memphis in the first round (25th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft after one season at the University of Washington, Wroten (6-6, 208) averaged 2.6 points and 1.2 assists in 7.8 minutes in 35 games for the Grizzlies during his rookie season.

The Seattle native was assigned to the Reno Bighorms, the Grizzlies’ former D-League affiliate, four times last season, where he averaged 17.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists on .415 shooting in 26.5 minutes in 11 games (three starts).
