About Vrenz Bleijenbergh

• Bleijenbergh was born Oct. 14, 2000 in Brasschaat, Belgium. He’s listed as a 6-foot-10, 209-pound forward. He began playing basketball at a young age for with his local team, Ticino Merksem. He played point guard as a youth despite his well-above-average height.

• In 2016, he played in the U16 Euro Championship B. In 23 minutes per game, Bleijenbergh averaged 9.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks while shooting 49.2% from the field and 37.1% from deep.

• In 2017, he played in the U18 Euro Championship B, where he averaged 5.9 points and 4.0 rebounds in 16 minutes per game while shooting 51.4% from the field.

• In 2018, he began playing pro ball with the Antwerp Giants. Before signing with the team, he turned down college offers from the likes of Arizona, Texas Tech and UCLA. At this time, he also left secondary school to focus solely on basketball.

• During the 2018-19 season, he saw 7.5 minutes per game and averaged 1.4 points and 1.3 rebounds.

• In 2018, he also participated in the U18 Euro Championship B. Bleijenbergh’s team took home the bronze medal, and he averaged 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.1 steals in 29 minutes per contest.

• In 2019-20 with the Antwerp Giants, Bleijenbergh saw an increased role and averaged 2.9 points, 1.9 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game.

• He also played in the U20 Euro Championship B in 2019, averaging 9.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.6 steals while his team placed Bronze.

• Bleijenbergh saw a massive role increase in 2020-21, garnering 26.1 minutes per game and averaging 9.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals. He started 28 of his 41 appearances and was named Pro Basketball League Rising Star at the end of the season. His best performance that year came on Feb. 12 against Proximus Spirou Charleroi. Bleijenbergh saw 32 minutes and recorded 16 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. On May 2, he scored a season-high 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
