Clippers to Celebrate 50th Season with Themed Celebrations and Giveaways

The L.A. Clippers, who in 2019-20 are celebrating the franchise’s 50th season, have announced details of the team’s promotional schedule and celebrations. A special 50th-season logo will be displayed on the Clippers’ court this season, and the team will host Throwback Nights honoring the franchise’s three home cities. The Clippers also launched the new, official Instagram handle @throwback.clips, which will post throwback content all season long celebrating the 50th-season milestone. The website www.clippers.com/classicedition will be the home for Clippers 50th-season content all season long.

At each of the Clippers’ three Throwback Nights, the team will pay homage to its history by wearing Classic Edition Buffalo Braves-styled jerseys and featuring themed in-arena entertainment celebrating each era and city. The Classic Edition jerseys and other themed merchandise will be available for sale at the Team L.A. store on gamedays, with other merchandise available at www.clippersstore.com. The Clippers’ opponents on Throwback Nights are also celebrating their 50th seasons. Details about each night’s celebration are below.

  • Buffalo Throwback Night / ‘70s Night – Thursday, November 7 vs. Portland Trailblazers – Buffalo Braves Socks giveaway for first 5,000 fans
  • San Diego Throwback Night / ‘80s Night – Tuesday, December 3 vs. Portland Trailblazers – San Diego Cap giveaway for first 5,000 fans
  • L.A. Throwback Night / ‘90s Night – Tuesday, January 14 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers – Clippers 50th Anniversary Beanie giveaway for first 5,000 fans

Other Clippers giveaways this season will include a Lou Williams “Underground G.O.A.T.” Bobblehead presented by Kia on November 20 vs. Boston and a Paul George Bobblehead on February 5 vs. Miami. A full list of the Clippers’ giveaways this season is available at www.clippers.com/giveaways.

Clippers promotional nights this season will include the return of the popular DTLAC Nights Series, presented by Agua Caliente Casinos, that celebrate Downtown L.A. and feature special halftime performances. The pre-game show and halftime festivities at four Friday DTLAC Nights will include LED wristbands for all fans that light up along with the show. Past DTLAC Night performers have included YG, Nipsey Hussle, Coolio, Problem and Kurupt.

Other fan favorite celebrations returning this season include Native American Cultural Night presented by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians on Saturday, November 16 vs. the Atlanta Hawks, the Clippers’ Holiday Celebration, presented by Kia, on Thursday, December 19 vs. the Houston Rockets and Hawaii Night presented by Hawaii Tourism on Sunday, January 5 vs. the New York Knicks.

The dates have also been announced for Clippers group events this season, with more information available at www.clippers.com/specialevents. Fans who purchase special ticket packages for Heritage Nights, which are presented by Cedars-Sinai, and games including Korean Heritage Night, Pride Night and Filipino Heritage Night, among others, will receive specialty promotional items along with their tickets.
