NBA Champion Golden State Warriors Announce Schedule for Upcoming Campaign

The Warriors open the 2015-16 season with four consecutive games against their 2015 Western Conference playoff foes, starting with an Opening Night home game against the Pelicans on Tuesday, October 27.

The National Basketball Association announced today that the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors 2015-16 season, presented by Kaiser Permanente, will tip off at home against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, October 27, in a rematch of the teams’ First Round series in the 2015 NBA Playoffs.

The Warriors open the season with four consecutive games against their 2015 Western Conference playoff foes, with road games against the Houston Rockets on October 30 and New Orleans on October 31 before returning home to face the Memphis Grizzlies on November 2. The Warriors will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first time on Christmas Day at Oracle Arena in a rematch of the 2015 NBA Finals, and then again in Cleveland during the league’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on January 18.

After winning a franchise-best 67 regular-season games and capturing their first NBA title in 40 years, the Warriors are slated to make a franchise-record 25 national television appearances this season, with five (5) games scheduled on ABC, 10 on TNT and 10 on ESPN. The Warriors’ ABC lineup tips off with their Christmas Day meeting with the Cavaliers and includes a trio of games on the debut season of “Saturday Night NBA on ABC,” with road matchups against the L.A. Clippers on February 20, Oklahoma City Thunder on February 27 and San Antonio Spurs on March 19, in addition to a Sunday matinee in Los Angeles against the Lakers on March 6.

Highlights of the team’s TNT docket include the season opener versus the Pelicans on Tuesday, October 27, marking the return of Pelicans Head Coach Alvin Gentry, who helped the Warriors to the 2014-15 NBA title as the associate head coach on Steve Kerr’s staff, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Day showcase against the Cavaliers on Monday, January 18. In addition, the TNT slate features home games against the Lakers on Tuesday, November 24; the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, February 9; the Thunder on Thursday, March 3; the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, March 29; and the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, April 7.
