NEW YORK, Feb. 17 –- The NBA announced today that Chris Webber has been suspended without pay for eight games. Webber was suspended for five games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program. As a separate matter, Webber also received a three-game suspension for being convicted of criminal contempt in violation of federal law.

Webber's suspension will begin with tonight's game between the Sacramento Kings and the Boston Celtics at ARCO Arena.
