Bargnani, selected first overall in the 2006 NBA draft, averaged 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds for the month of February. He also led the team in scoring twice and off the bench seven times. Bargnani reached double-digits in points 10 times and established career highs in rebounds (11), defensive rebounds (10) and minutes (39). Bargnani ranked first in scoring, third in rebounds, (3.9) and third in blocked shots (0.42) among Eastern conference rookies.
Roy, who landed in Portland after a trade from Minnesota (via Boston) in June, led all rookies in points, assists and minutes per game. Roy scored 20-plus three times in the month of February, including 27 points on both Feb.6 vs. Phoenix and Feb 20 vs. Utah. He started in 11 of 11 games played and averaged 15.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 3.7 rpg this month.
