NEW YORK, Feb. 26, 2007 – The New Jersey Nets’ Vince Carter and the Phoenix Suns’ Amaré Stoudemire today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Feb. 19 through Sunday, Feb. 25.

Carter averaged an NBA-best 37.3 points along with 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in helping lead New Jersey to a 2-1 week. He recorded a season-high 46 points in a 111-107 loss to New Orleans/Oklahoma City on Feb. 21 and tallied 40 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a 101-92 win over New York on Feb. 25.

Stoudemire averaged 30.0 points along with 12.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists as Phoenix posted a 4-0 record on the week. He recorded 32 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a 118-108 win over Boston on Feb. 21 and posted season highs with 43 points and six assists in a 115-106 win over Atlanta on Feb. 25.

Vince Carter, New Jersey Nets

  • Feb. 21 vs. New Orleans/Oklahoma City: Registered season-high 46 points, two rebounds and two assists in a 111-107 loss to the Hornets.
  • Feb. 23 vs. Sacramento: Tallied 26 points and tied his season-high with 11 rebounds in a 109-96 win over the Kings.
  • Feb. 25 vs. New York: Posted 40 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and two steals in a 101-92 win over the Knicks.

    Amaré Stoudemire, Phoenix Suns

  • Feb. 20 at L.A. Clippers: Scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds and two steals in a 115-90 win over the Clippers.
  • Feb. 21 vs. Boston: Posted 32 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a 118-108 win over the Celtics.
  • Feb. 23 at Minnesota: Registered 23 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in a 116-104 win over the Timberwolves.
  • Feb. 25 at Atlanta: Tallied season highs with 43 points and six assists and added 16 rebounds and three blocks in a 115-106 win over the Hawks.
