LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9 – The New Jersey Nets Kenyon Martin and San Antonio Spurs Tim Duncan were today named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, February 2 through Sunday, February 8.



Martin led the Nets to a perfect 4-0 record for the week, averaging 21.0 points and 12.0 rebounds, recording three double-doubles (points-rebounds) against New Orleans, Miami and Orlando.

Duncan averaged 27.3 points on .556 shooting, 13.0 rebounds, 3.67 blocks and 2.33 steals per game, leading the Spurs to a 3-0 record for the week. Duncan recorded double-doubles (points-rebounds) against Utah, Seattle and Sacramento, placing him second in the NBA in double-doubles recorded this season (41).

Kenyon Martin, New Jersey Nets
Feb. 2 @ New Orleans – Tallied 13 points, 12 rebounds and four assists as the Nets defeated the Hornets 91-70 on the road.
Feb. 4 vs. Miami – Had 24 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in a 99-88 win over the Heat.
Feb. 6 vs. Orlando – Had 18 points, 15 rebounds and three assists in a 120-99 win against the Magic.
Feb. 8 vs. Philadelphia – Recorded 29 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 99-87 win over the 76ers.

Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs
Feb. 2 vs. Utah – Recorded 31 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, three steals and three assists in a 83-65 win over the Jazz.
Feb. 5 @ Seattle – Had 23 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks as the Spurs defeated the SuperSonics 96-90.
Feb. 6 @ Sacramento – Scored 28 points and had 14 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in a 102-94 win over the Kings.
