NEW YORK, April 14-- The Orlando Magic's Tracy McGrady and the Phoenix Suns' Shawn Marion were today named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, April 7 through Sunday, April 13.


McGrady led the Magic to a 3-0 record by averaging 36.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.33 steals.

Marion helped the Suns clinch a playoff berth by leading them to a 4-0 week with averages of 26.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.75 steals and 2.5 assists.

April 9 vs. Toronto – Had 37 points, five assists, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals in six-point victory over the Raptors. April 8 at Denver – Had 27 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in victory over the Nuggets.
April 11 at Indiana– Recorded 35 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 98-86 victory over the Pacers. April 9 vs. Dallas – Recorded 31 points, 15 rebounds and three steals in 112-89 victory over the Mavericks.
April 12 vs. Boston– Tallied 37 points, nine rebounds and four assists in three-point victory over the Celtics. April 11 vs. Golden State– Tallied 24 points, eight rebounds and six steals in 16-point victory over the Warriors..
April 13 vs. San Antonio– Helped the Suns clinch a spot in the playoffs by recording 24 points, four rebounds and three steals in 92-85 victory over the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Spurs.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Milwaukee’s Toni Kukoc, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett and Wally Szczerbiak and New Orleans’ Jamal Mashburn and Jamaal Magliore.
