NEW YORK, March 31 -- New Jersey’s Richard Jefferson and San Antonio’s Tim Duncan were today named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 24 through Sunday, March 30.


Jefferson, in his second season in the NBA, helped lead his team to a 3-0 record for the week by averaging 26.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.33 steals per game.

Duncan averaged 29.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 blocks per game while helping the Spurs to a 4-0 record for the week. Here is a closer look at the week for Jefferson and Duncan:

March 26 vs. New York – Recorded 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists as the Nets defeated the visiting Knicks 101-95. March 25 vs. Milwaukee – Had 31 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks as the Spurs defeated the Bucks 107-94..
March 28 at New York – Had a career-high 39 points while adding six rebounds and four assists in a 122-101 victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. March 27 vs. Houston – Recorded 25 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks in a 98-85 win over the Rockets.
March 29 vs. Golden State – Had 22 points, three rebounds, three assists and a career-high four steals as the Nets defeated the visiting Warriors 109-97. March 29 vs. Utah – Recorded 30 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in the Spurs 101-81 victory over the visiting Jazz.
March 30 at New Orleans – Had 33 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks as the Spurs won at New Orleans 92-90.
