NEW YORK, March 10 -- Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson and Houston’s Steve Francis were named Monday the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 10 through Sunday, March 16.


Iverson led the Sixers to a 3-0 record and to within a half-game of the Atlantic Division-leading New Jersey Nets by averaging 28.0 points, 6.7 assists, 4.0 steals and 3.0 rebounds.

Francis led the Rockets to a 3-0 record by averaging 20.0 points, 8.3 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals. Here is a closer look at the week for Iverson and Francis.

March 12 vs. Indiana: Had 31 points, six assists, two rebounds, two steals and a block in three-point victory over the Pacers. March 12 vs. LA Clippers: Had 25 points, nine assists, six rebounds, two steals and a block in 118-114 victory.
March 14 vs. Portland: Tallied 22 points, nine assists, four rebounds and four steals in 90-79 victory over the Trail Blazers. March 14 vs. Chicago: Tallied 23 points, 10 assists, five steals and two blocks in 30-point victory over the Bulls.
March 16 at New Jersey: Finished out a perfect week for the Sixers with 31 points, six steals, five assists and three rebounds in five-point road victory over the Nets. March 16 vs. Phoenix: Had 12 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals in 10-point victory over the Suns.
