NEW YORK, March 10 -- Orlando's Tracy McGrady and the Los Angeles Lakers' Shaquille O'Neal were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9.


McGrady led the Magic to a 3-1 record while averaging a league-high 38.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 2.25 steals per game.

O'Neal led the Lakers to a 3-0 record while averaging 35.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.0 steals per game.

March 3 at Chicago: Had 26 points, nine rebounds and a career-high 13 assists in a 104-89 win over the Bulls.   March 5 vs. Indiana: Had 26 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks in a 97-95 win over the visiting Pacers.
March 5 vs. Milwaukee: Recorded 48 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 111-99 win over the Bucks.   March 7 vs. Minnesota: Recorded 40 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and five blocks as the Lakers defeated the Timberwolves 106-96.
March 7 vs. New York: Scored 37 points while adding six assists in a 111-102 loss to the visiting Knicks.   March 9 vs. Philadelphia: Tallied 39 points and 10 rebounds as the Lakers defeated the Sixers 106-92.
March 9 vs. Denver: Had 43 points, three assists and two blocks in a 111-98 win over the Nuggets.    

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Boston's J.R.
