NEW YORK, Jan. 6 -- Washington Wizards guard Michael Jordan and Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki today were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 through Sunday, Jan. 6, 2003.

Jordan averaged 22.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.25 steals per game as the Wizards recorded a 3-1 record last week.

Nowitzki averaged 29.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.33 blocks and 1.33 steals per game in leading the Mavericks to a 2-1 record.

Dec. 30 at Orlando -- Had 21 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and three steals in a 112-95 loss to the Magic. Dec. 30 vs. Milwaukee -- Scored a career-high-tying 40 points while adding 14 rebounds, five assists and two steals as the Mavericks lost to the Bucks 110-107.
Dec. 31 vs. San Antonio -- Recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal in a 105-103 win over the Spurs. Jan. 2 vs. L.A. Clippers -- Tallied 20 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and a steal in a 102-92 win over the visiting Clippers.
Jan. 2 at Chicago -- Had 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals as he returned to Chicago and the Wizards defeated the Bulls 107-82. Jan. 4 vs. Philadelphia -- Recorded 29 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal in a 102-83 win over the Sixers.
Jan. 4 vs. Indiana -- Had a season-high 41 points and posted his first double-double of the season with 12 rebounds while adding four assists and three steals in a 107-104 win over the Pacers.
