NEW YORK, Dec. 23 – New Jersey Nets guard Jason Kidd and San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan today were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 22.

Kidd averaged 31.0 points, on .536 shooting from the field, to go along with 10.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds as the Nets went 2-1 last week.

Duncan averaged 22.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.25 blocks in leading the Spurs to a 3-1 record.

Dec. 17 at New York – Posted his highest point total as a Net, 39, to go with 11 assists and five rebounds in two-point loss to the Knicks. Connected on a career high 17-of-18 from the free-throw line. Dec 16 at LA Clippers – Had 32 points and 11 rebounds in loss to the Clippers.
Dec. 19 vs. Lakers – Tallied 27 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and three steals in 98-71 victory over the defending champions. Dec. 18 at Seattle – Tallied 18 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists and four blocks in three-point road victory over the SuperSonics.
Dec. 21 vs. Detroit – Had 27 points, 12 assists, a season-high five steals and three rebounds in 100-92 victory over the Pistons. Dec. 19 at Sacramento – Collected 23 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in handing the Kings their first home loss of the season.
Dec. 21 vs. Washington – Closed out the week with 18 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in 11-point victory over the Wizards.
