The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics 99-88 in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Saturday.
There were 10 ties and seven lead changes in the game, with neither team leading by more than 10 points until the final bucket. Boston actually led by nine points late in the third quarter, but Miami rode a 28-13 fourth quarter to their comeback win. The Heat shot 43% from the field and 42% from 3-point range while holding the Celtics to 41% from the field and 35% from long range. Miami also won the turnover battle, 19-12, while outscoring Boston in points off of turnovers, 22-7.
The Heat (1-0) got plenty of help from Orlando Robinson, who finished with 36 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Nikola Jovic had 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Dru Smith provided 16 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
The Celtics (0-1) were led by Jordan Walsh, who collected 18 points, five rebounds and two steals. JD Davison tallied 14 points, four rebounds, 11 assists and two steals. Justin Champagnie totaled seven points, 11 rebounds and two assists, while Jay Scrubb led the bench with 17 points and two steals.
