LAS VEGAS – Antonio Blakeney scored 25 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to an 86-81 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Las Vegas Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Saturday.

Blakeney, whose rookie season last year was cut short after 19 games because of a broken wrist, shot 10-of-19 from the field with four assists, four rebounds and two steals.

The Bulls (1-0) led by as many as 15 in the first half, but the Cavaliers stayed close and took a 68-67 lead with 6:58 to play. Chicago, though, regained the lead moments later on a pair of free throws by Wendell Carter Jr. and never looked back.

The seventh overall pick in this year’s draft, Carter scored eight of the Bulls’ final 19 points. He finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, five blocks and two steals. Chandler Hutchinson totaled 13 points and five boards, and Ryan Arcidiacono had 10 points.

The Cavaliers shot 43.4 percent from the field but made only five of 27 attempts from 3-point range. Ante Zizic had a team-high 25 points and 11 rebounds. Collin Sexton, drafted eighth overall in June, scored 14 points. John Holland added 11 points and three assists.

The Bulls are back in action Sunday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cavaliers play the Indiana Pacers on Monday.
