Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson's confidence never wavered as his team battled through a rough stretch, especially on the road.

His players are hungry for more success, too.

Coming off a blowout victory, visiting Golden State looks to beat the New Orleans Hornets for the third time this season Monday night.

The Warriors (38-30) had lost 13 of their last 20 games, including nine of 10 on the road, and were in danger of dropping to seventh place in the Western Conference.

But they remained in sixth and extended their lead to 1 1/2 games over Houston by routing the Rockets 108-78 on Sunday to kick off a three-game road trip, a performance Jackson welcomed after the adversity his team faced in recent weeks on the road.

"I believe in my guys and I know this team is not going to panic. We are going to stay true to who we are," Jackson said. "You don't start doing things you haven't been doing. That panic. This is a special group. I'm honored to coach these guys."

Stephen Curry scored 29 points after going 2 for 13 from the field and scoring eight in a home loss to Chicago on Friday. Despite Golden State's road struggles, Curry is averaging 35.2 points and shooting 53.7 percent from 3-point range over his last five away from home.

"We haven't been playing well on the road," Curry said. "This was a big game for us to start off the road trip with and it's a good feeling. Now we have to follow it up (Monday) and not let this win be for nothing."

Klay Thompson scored 26 points and hit 6 of 9 from 3-point range. He had shot just 40.1 percent from the field over his previous 10 road contests, including 35.2 percent on 3s.

"If we don't take care of business in New Orleans, this means nothing," Thompson said. "Every win from here on out is a big, big game and you have to take wins where you get them and it's not easy."

David Lee scored 26 points in a 103-96 home win over New Orleans on Dec. 18, then Thompson netted 29 in a 116-112 victory Jan. 19.

The Hornets have lost 10 of 13 and dropped all three games on their road trip after falling 97-95 at Minnesota on Sunday. Greivis Vasquez, who has 26 assists in the two meetings with the Warriors, scored 24 points.

New Orleans (22-45), which is tied with Phoenix for the West's worst record, was unable to hold a four-point lead with roughly one minute remaining, much to the dismay of coach Monty Williams.

"You can't explain that kind of stuff," he said.

The Hornets committed their most turnovers since finishing with 23 in a loss to Minnesota on Feb. 2.

"I mean honestly, we turned the ball over 20 times, they shot more free throws than we did, and we're up four with one minute left," Vasquez said. "So no excuses, we just lost."

Williams hopes his squad can bounce back against a Warriors team he knows will come out fired up to play, especially since Golden State is fighting for playoff positioning.

"They are desperate team," Williams said. "They are looking to win some games. We have to go in and try and make our presence felt right from the jump."

Curry leads Warriors past Hornets, 93-72

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Stephen Curry's effortless-looking 3-pointer from 29 feet away symbolized how right things have gone for Golden State during the first two games of a meaningful late-season road trip.

Looking to lead his team into the playoffs, Curry scored 30 points and the Warriors won easily for the second straight night, 93-72 over the struggling New Orleans Hornets on Monday.

"This is a game that validates last night, how big a win that was for us to start the road trip," Curry said, alluding to Golden State's 30-point victory at Houston on Sunday. "If you drop an egg tonight it means nothing, so - a big win for us."

David Lee had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Klay Thompson scored 13 points for the Warriors (39-30), who continued to solidify their postseason credentials with 13 games remaining.

"We're a good team. We're focused on a mission and we never lost confidence in the down part of the year that we had the last couple months," Curry said, referring to a 3-10 stretch spanning from early February to early March. "We feel like when we're on top of our game and locked in and everybody's healthy and ready to go, we're a team to be reckoned with and match up with anybody."

After scoring 29 points at Houston, Curry made 10 of his 19 field goal attempts in New Orleans, hitting six 3s on nine attempts.

Andrew Bogut anchored the Warriors' defense with four blocks and nine rebounds to go with his eight points.

"We understood what we had to do coming in here," Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. "That didn't mean we were going to win, but if we were going to lose, we were going to lose with energy, effort and efficiency. We did those things and came up with a big win.

"I'm proud of my guys," Jackson added, satisfied with how his players have responded to a mid-season swoon in which it looked like they might fade from contention. "We're not going anywhere."

Ryan Anderson had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets (22-46), who came in tied with Phoenix for the Western Conference's worst record and lost their fourth straight game. Anthony Davis added 16 points, while Greivis Vasquez had 14 points and nine assists. The Hornets, who lost in Minnesota on Sunday, were playing without guard Eric Gordon, who has rested his right knee on the second of back-to-back games this season.

"We took a lot of bad shots," Hornets coach Monty Williams said. "It's a challenge to try to manufacture your offense with guys who are trying their best to make shots when we don't have a guy to get it done, get the ball and go to the basket. (Golden State) had a number of guys who could do that."

Curry twice hit 3s to give Golden State 10-point leads in the third quarter, and the Warriors led by as many as 13 when Bogut's jump hook made it 59-46.

The Hornets used a 7-2 run highlighted by Davis' alley-oop jam and Anderson's 3 to pull back to 62-55, but the Warriors pushed their lead back up to 13 when Curry drained his 29-footer.

"It didn't know where I was," Curry said. "I just felt confident enough that I could take it and make it."

New Orleans looked to make one last push when Vasquez's 3 cut it to 80-72 with 5:50 left, then Lee and Bogut each scored four points and Curry added his final 3 from the right corner during a 13-0 run to close out the game.

"We gave them too many open looks," Anderson said. "They're a very good-shooting team and you can't let them get loose. They hit some big shots when we tried to cut the lead several times. We just couldn't get over the hump."

Golden State was a bit shaky early, missing eight straight to end the first period, as well as its first shot of the second. The Hornets took advantage, going ahead 24-19 when Anderson scored eight straight points on a step-back jumper, four free throws and a reverse layup.

New Orleans led 34-30 on Vasquez's floater with 5:48 left in the half, but the Hornets then stumbled offensively while Golden State began to look more like its usual high-scoring self. Jarrett Jack's hesitation move in the lane lured Vasquez into a foul on a made floater, igniting a 15-2 run to close the quarter. Curry made two jumpers during the spurt, Thompson added a 3 and Lee scored twice inside, the second basket putting the Warriors ahead 45-36 at halftime.

Notes: The Warriors had never before won back-to-back road games by 20 or more points apiece. ... Golden State improved to 13-2 when holding an opponent below 40 percent shooting. ... The Warriors wrap up their three-game road trip Wednesday night at San Antonio. ... On the same day the Hornets signed him to a second, 10-day contract, guard Terrell Harris played a season-high 28 minutes, finishing with a season highs in points (4) and rebounds (5), along with two blocked shots, an assist and a steal. His previous season high for minutes was 12 when he was with Miami earlier this season. ... The Hornets play the second game of their six-game homestand Wednesday night against Boston.

THE FACTS: A night after taking a 30-point win, the Golden State Warriors kept rolling with another big margin, defeating the New Orleans Hornets 93-72 Monday night.

Stephen Curry led the way with 30 points, David Lee added 20 points and 11 rebounds and Klay Thompson put up 13 points as the Warriors (39-30) shot 50 percent for the game.

New Orleans (22-46) led early and kept pace, but without Eric Gordon (back-to-back game restriction), Jason Smith (shoulder) and Austin Rivers (hand), the Hornets couldn't keep up for the entire game. After shooting 44 percent in the first quarter, New Orleans went just 20-for-65 in the final three periods. Both teams were playing the second games of back-to-backs, but while the Warriors cruised to an easy win Sunday, the Hornets were in their game at Minnesota until the final seconds. And their weariness showed.

Ryan Anderson led New Orleans with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Anthony Davis recorded 16 points and seven rebounds.

It was Golden State's ability to push the pace on turnovers and play efficiently otherwise that was the difference in the game. The Warriors scored nine fast-break points and turned 14 Hornets' turnovers into 10 points. The Warriors three-game road swing will now take them to Western Conference-leading San Antonio on Wednesday. The Hornets, meanwhile, will try to stop a four-game slide at home against Boston the same night.

QUOTABLE: "Going into the playoffs and going late into the season, we need to be playing at our best. A lot of teams peak early and finish not so great. I think that we're doing a good job of peaking right now. We've had two big wins. We've got to just keep it up."

THE STAT: 10-for-19. The Warriors entered the game leading the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage at 39.8 percent. They bettered that Monday night, going 10-for-19 from long range, 52.6 percent.

TURNING POINT: New Orleans took a 34-30 lead on Greivis Vasquez's running jumper with 5:48 to go in the second quarter. Golden State would go on to outscore the Hornets 15-2 for the rest of the quarter. It started with a 9-foot jumper from Jarrett Jack, a former Hornet, and ended with a Lee layup with just 13 seconds to play in the quarter.

HOT: Golden State's Curry followed up a 29-point game at Houston with a 30-point night in New Orleans. He was 10-for-19 and was a game-best 6-for-9 from 3-point range to lead the Warriors.

NOT: With Gordon not playing because of back-to-back restrictions, Roger Mason Jr. got the start. He didn't take advantage, though, going 1-for-7 from the floor for just three points in 19-plus minutes.

GOOD MOVE: For the Hornets' Williams, leaving in guard Terrel Harris. On his second 10-day contract, Harris showed athleticism and heart, possibly working his way into being signed for the rest of the season with a season-high four points, two blocks, one steal and five rebounds.

NOTABLE: Golden State's Lee had his 45th double-double of the season and now has 25 20-point, 11-rebound games, which is the most in the NBA. ... The Warriors' Andrew Bogut blocked a season-high four shots. ... New Orleans was perfect at the free-throw line, going 13-for-13. ... The Hornets finished with 10 steals, the 11th time this season they've had double-digit steal.
