Stellar outside shooting performances from John Wall don't occur with great regularity.

They're not quite as rare, though, as Washington Wizards victories over the Phoenix Suns.

Wall looks to stay hot while helping Washington avoid an 11th straight loss to Phoenix on Saturday night at the Verizon Center.

The Wizards (22-42) have been playing fairly well of late despite still missing injured rookie Bradley Beal, who has been out for the last six games with a sprained left ankle.

Washington has won three of its last four and Wall has been a major factor, averaging 26.3 points and 11.0 assists over his last three after finishing with a season-high 29 points and nine assists in Friday's 96-87 win over New Orleans.

The point guard is shooting 59.2 percent in that stretch, including a 3-for-3 performance from 3-point range while hitting 12 of 15 from the field Friday. He went 3 for 42 from long range during the lockout-shortened 66-game season in 2011-12, and entered the last contest 3 for 20 over his first 30 games after sitting out the first part of this season with a knee injury.

"You look at Jason Kidd, he didn't start making 3s until late in his career," said Wall, who hit 9 of 12 from at least 13 feet away. "As long as I can make the mid-range (shot) and improve my game and help my teammates out, that's all that matters to me."

The Wizards are 14-4 in their last 18 at the Verizon Center after dropping 13 of 16 on their home floor to begin the season. They've won four straight at home, with Wall shooting 62.5 percent during that streak.

"Larry Bird didn't have the picture-perfect shot, but he shot it the same way every time," coach Randy Wittman said. "... John, he's got to make it the same shot. He can't take two different shots."

Wall, though, is averaging only 11.0 points and shooting 33.3 percent in three career games versus the Suns, who have won the last 10 meetings by an average of 17.5 points.

Phoenix also has won six straight matchups in Washington - the last five by double digits - but it enters this contest just 7-27 on the road after falling 107-94 at Atlanta on Friday.

Goran Dragic finished with 21 points and eight assists for the Suns (22-44), who have lost five of six - with the defeats coming by an average of 18.8 points. They are tied with New Orleans for the Western Conference's worst record.

"It's tough, but everybody is a professional and we have to play right to the end of the season," Dragic said.

Phoenix committed 24 turnovers Friday after finishing with 22 in a 111-81 loss at Houston on Wednesday. It ranks near the bottom of the league with 15.5 giveaways per game.

"(The turnovers were) pretty much the ballgame for us," interim coach Lindsey Hunter said. "And some of our shots were like turnovers because they were pretty bad. On the road, you can't turn the ball over and make mental mistakes defensively.

"It's just a process of us learning how to finish games and how to win tough road games."

The Wizards haven't beaten the Suns since a 144-139 overtime victory Dec. 22, 2006.

WASHINGTON (AP) Martell Webster says he would love to be a Washington Wizard next season.

He's giving the Wizards plenty of reasons to keep him lately.

Webster scored a career-high 34 points in a 127-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night, putting an exclamation point on a personal hot streak and becoming the Wizards' first 30-point scorer this season.

John Wall added 17 points and 11 assists, and Emeka Okafor had 17 points and 10 rebounds in the fourth straight home win for the Wizards and third straight overall.

But in tying a career high with seven 3-pointers, Webster owned the night and, after the latest in a franchise-record streak of five games with four or more made 3s, made a strong case to be re-signed.

"I would love to be here next year," said Webster, an eight-year veteran who entered Saturday shooting 44.4 percent from 3-point range and averaging 11.2 points. He will be a free agent at the end of the season.

"We'll see what happens," he added. "I'm having an extraordinary time here. The city is great, the fans are great, and the teammates are awesome."

Michael Beasley scored 21 points and Goran Dragic added 12 points and 11 assists as the Suns (22-45) lost their fourth straight and their sixth of eight in March.

Phoenix now owns the worst record in the Western Conference, a half-game behind idle New Orleans.

"I was embarrassed tonight, and I know our guys feel the same way," said Phoenix coach Lindsey Hunter. "The amount of points we gave up, the amount of 3s we gave up, rebounds, there was no aspect that we brought our focus to."

Webster's last 3 came on the left wing just moments into the fourth quarter to make it 105-84. Webster shrugged toward his bench after the basket in disbelief, then followed with a reverse dunk to push it to 109-86.

During the last five games, he is shooting 55 percent (26 of 47) beyond the arc. He took just 10 3-point attempts Saturday.

"My teammates kept finding me," Webster said. "They encouraged me to continue to shoot the ball, and when you have that backing, it's easy to shoot."

Wall, meanwhile, has had at least 17 points and nine or more assists in his last four games. He followed a 12-for-15 effort in Friday's win over New Orleans with an efficient 8-of-11 shooting night Saturday.

After Saturday's game, he said he'd already brought up Webster's potential return to team owner Ted Leonsis.

"I already talked to Ted about that one," Wall said. "That's an easy hands-down question about trying to get him back."

Phoenix actually led on Beasley's second-quarter 3-pointer to make it 50-49. But Washington opened a 64-52 lead on a 15-2 run helped by technical fouls given to Phoenix's Jermaine O'Neal and Hunter.

Webster hit both resulting foul shots, the latter to end the run after Wall's transition dunk, and the Wizards led 66-59 after their highest-scoring first half of the season.

Washington put it away in the third, going on a 17-6 run capped by Trevor Booker's putback. And Webster's individual brilliance pushed the lead even larger in the fourth.

THE FACTS: Martell Webster scored a career-high 34 points with seven 3-pointers and the Washington Wizards finished 14-for-21 from beyond the arc en route to scoring their most points on the season in a 127-105 drubbing of the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night.

John Wall had 17 points and 11 assists for his third double-double in his last four games, while Emeka Okafor had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Wizards (23-42). Washington took control by scoring 75 points combined in the second and third quarters en route to completing its homestand 3-0.

Webster made 7-for-10 3-point attempts, including all four in the third quarter as the Wizards turned a 66-59 halftime lead into a 102-83 advantage entering the fourth. Washington made 14 of their 22 shots in the third quarter.

Michael Beasley scored 21 points, Jared Dudley had 16 and Goran Dragic finished with 12 points and 11 assists for the Suns (22-45). Phoenix trailed by 23 points in this one, and has lost four straight and six of seven.

QUOTABLE: "Martell is weird sometimes. He was in his own zone, doing the Michael-Jordan shrug when he hit that last one. ...He had a big night for us."

THE STAT: Second in the NBA with a 45.3 3-point shooting percentage, Webster has made at least four 3-pointers in five straight games, establishing a franchise record.

HOT: Beasley, who grew up in the local Maryland suburbs, went 6-for-7 during the second quarter, scoring 16 points. The 6-foot-10 forward turned a beautiful spin move into a thunderous dunk over Nene, but picked up one of Phoenix's four technical foul's after the play for taunting.

NOT: While the Wizards could not miss from long range, Phoenix finished 6-for-21 from beyond the arc. Dragic and Dudley were a combined 2-for-9.

GOOD MOVE: After missing the last five games with a sprained right ankle, Bradley Beal returned and scored 13 points in 21 minutes off the bench. The rookie knocked down 3 of his 4 3-point attempts.
