The Toronto Raptors, mired in the longest road losing streak in franchise history, have only beaten five teams away from home this season.

The Detroit Pistons are one of them.

Seeking their first road win in more than two months, the Raptors will try for a fourth consecutive victory at The Palace of Auburn Hills when they conclude their season series with the Pistons on Wednesday night.

After defeating Indiana 108-98 on Friday night to snap a three-game skid, the Raptors fell 95-90 to Charlotte on Sunday - their 24th loss in 29 games.

That contest capped a three-game homestand, and now Toronto (18-48) must play six of seven on the road.

The Raptors have lost all 13 of their games away from home - by an average of 13.7 points - since a 120-105 win at Cleveland on Jan. 5.

They matched the longest road skid in franchise history at 11 with a loss to the Bobcats on Feb. 22, and set a new record after falling to New Jersey on March 4 and 5 in London.

Toronto also made history Dec. 11 when it overcame a 31-point deficit to win 120-116 in Detroit, its largest come-from-behind victory of all-time.

That's one of only five wins in 31 games away from home for the Raptors, who rank near the bottom of the league in opponents' field-goal percentage on the road at 49.1.

Toronto, though, has won three straight at Detroit - currently tied for its second-longest road win streak against any opponent - but had a combined 36 turnovers in the last two meetings and lost both.

Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan has a 9.4 career scoring average versus the Pistons - his lowest against any Eastern Conference opponent - and he's been struggling. He had 30 points in both games in London but has since averaged 14.7 on 35.7 percent shooting with 10 turnovers in three games.

"I think he's trying too hard and he's trying to be aggressive and sometimes he gets a little bit too ambitious with the basketball," coach Jay Triano said.

"The kid's gonna have games where he's putting it on himself and putting it on his shoulders and trying to score a little bit, and unfortunately he hasn't played that well."

DeRozan could bounce back against a Detroit team struggling on defense, allowing an average of 109.2 points in its last 11 games - 8.8 more than its season mark. The Pistons are 3-28 when allowing at least 100 points in games that didn't go to overtime.

The Pistons (23-44) are coming off a game in which they gave up their highest point total of the season, losing 131-101 at Denver on Saturday night.

Detroit was outscored by 24 in the second half en route to its third straight loss and most lopsided of the season.

"I mean when is enough enough? You go out there and play like that, and let them pretty much put the embarrassment quotation on it," Tayshaun Prince said.

Richard Hamilton, averaging 18.3 points in his last three contests, scored a season-best 35 with six 3-pointers the last time he faced Toronto - a 115-93 win Dec. 22.

Tracy McGrady, who spent his first three seasons with the Raptors, is averaging 23.9 points against his former team - his second-most against any opponent. He had 22 on Jan. 14 as the Pistons won 101-95.

Hamilton helps Pistons end 3-game skid

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) It took 68 games, but Detroit Pistons coach John Kuester finally got the lineup he wanted.

He started his four oldest players - Ben Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Tracy McGrady - along with rookie Greg Monroe. The group scored a season-high 38 points in the first quarter and Detroit ended a three-game losing streak with a 107-93 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

"I've been waiting for that group to present itself all season, but it hasn't worked out until now," Kuester said. "They did a great job of setting the tone - that was as good a first quarter as we've played offensively all season."

With Hamilton benched for nearly a month and Wallace missing eight games after the death of his brother, the group hadn't been available since early January.

"When we have Ben Wallace out there with us, we know we can do good things," Prince said. "He's going to play defense, grab rebounds and block shots, and that means the rest of us can get out and run."

Rodney Stuckey, Detroit's leading scorer, had a strange game. Usually a shoot-first point guard, he finished with a career-high 14 assists while taking just one shot.

"My guys were open and making shots," Stuckey said. "A lot of people don't know it, but I'm a good passer. I probably passed up some shots I could have taken, but my guys were open."

Kuester, who has given McGrady the starting point-guard job, enjoyed Stuckey's new style.

"I think he was attacking as much as he normally does, but he was attacking for other players instead of for himself," Kuester said. "I loved it."

Andrea Bargnani led Toronto with 20 points, while Leandro Barbosa added 18 off the bench. Toronto scored the first basket, then never led again.

"Their energy was better than ours from the beginning of the game," Toronto coach Jay Triano said. "You can't dig a hole like we did tonight. For the remainder of the game, I thought we outplayed them, but you can't afford to get down to this team."

The Pistons led by 20 in the second, but the Raptors cut the margin to 63-52 at halftime.

Toronto was as close as six on multiple occasions in the third, but couldn't get any closer. The Pistons took an 87-76 advantage into the fourth.

"We fought hard to get back into it, and then they pulled away," said Toronto forward Ed Davis. "We had a lack of focus and a lack of energy, and it showed up in the first quarter. We have to come ready to play."

NOTES: Although St. Patrick's Day isn't until Thursday, the Raptors wore green uniforms. ... Kuester said before the game that he doesn't expect second-year forward Jonas Jerebko to play this season. Jerebko had been hoping to see some action after tearing his Achilles' tendon during the preseason. ... Stuckey had 13 assists before attempting his first - and only - shot. He missed a fast break layup with 3:52 to go. ... Hamilton will miss Thursday's practice due to the death of his grandfather.

THE FACTS: Richard Hamilton had a game-high 24 points and Tayshaun Prince added 22 as the Detroit Pistons rolled past the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night at The Palace 107-93. Rodney Stuckey had a career-high 14 assists for the Pistons, who snapped a three-game losing streak and won the season series from the Raptors 3-1.

QUOTABLE: "I passed up a couple of shots when I should have shot the ball but I was just looking for my teammates. It's just the way the game developed. A lot of people don't know I'm a good passer, so I tried to showcase that tonight."
-- Rodney Stuckey on racking up 14 assists while attempting just one shot. Stuckey, Detroit's leading scorer, came off the bench for just the seventh time this season.

THE STAT: 109.8. The Pistons, who rank 24th in scoring, averaged 109.8 points while going 3-1 against Toronto this season. Detroit, which lost a 25-point lead in the second half during the previous meeting at The Palace, shot 51.9 percent from the field Wedneday.

TURNING POINT: Pistons head coach John Kuester went old school while constructing his 18th starting lineup this season. He started his four oldest players -- Ben Wallace, Hamilton, Tracy McGrady and Prince -- along with rookie Greg Monroe. That group produced a 38-point first quarter, the club's highest-scoring first quarter of the season, and the Pistons led the rest of the way.

QUOTABLE II: "No matter who starts, if you get off to a good start like we did, it sets the tone for the game. If you've got a guy like Ben Wallace out there protecting the paint and doing things for us defensively, blocking shots and rebounding the basketball, it allows us to get out and run, take some gambles and do some different things."

HOT: Hamilton, whom many felt would never play for Detroit again after he was benched by Kuester, had his highest-scoring performance since he had 35 points against the Raptors Dec. 22. He is averaging 19.8 points over the last four games.

NOT: Raptors rookie Ed Davis, the No. 13 pick in last June's draft, was completely outplayed by Detroit's Greg Monroe, the No. 7 pick. Monroe had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while Davis managed just two points and five rebounds.

FANTASY SPOTLIGHT: Raptors reserve guard Leandro Barbosa contributed 18 points and is averaged 18.2 points over the last five games.

ROOKIE WATCH: Monroe, making a strong push for the All-Rookie Team, notched his eighth double-double since the All-Star break. He has a team-high 15.

NOTABLE: Stuckey became the first Piston to ever record at least 10 assists before taking a shot. The last NBA player to do that was Indiana's Jamaal Tinsley against Detroit on April 3, 2007. ... Hamilton learned Wednesday that his grandfather had died. He will miss practice Thursday and is questionable to play Friday against New York. ... Wallace played in his first game since Feb. 23. He missed eight games after the death of his brother. .... Detroit's 33 assists was a season high. ... Center Andrea Bargnani led Toronto with 20 points.
