The Washington Wizards have not had much success with or without John Wall on the court. They haven't had any on the road.

The No. 1 overall pick's potential absence would likely make it tougher for the Wizards to finally post their first road victory Wednesday night in a matchup with the Toronto Raptors.

While Wall may miss a third consecutive game with a bruised knee, the Wizards (5-11) also could be without starter Al Thornton (ankle) for the fourth game in a row and reserve Yi Jianlian (knee) for a ninth straight.

Those absences forced coach Flip Saunders into a mostly seven-man rotation Monday in a 104-95 loss at Miami.

"It got to the point late where we didn't have any enough runs left in us," Saunders said.

Wall also missed four games earlier this season with a sprained foot. Washington is 2-4 when he plays and 3-7 when he doesn't. When Wall scores at least 19 points, however, the Wizards have won three of four.

Alonzo Gee has started the last two games in Wall's place but has totaled just 15 points and two assists. Wall is among the league leaders with 9.1 assists per game while averaging 18.0 points.

Since Wall scored 25 in an overtime victory over Philadelphia last Tuesday, the Wizards have lost three in a row - all by double digits - despite Gilbert Arenas stepping up to average 25.0 points.

Five of their eight road losses have been by double figures. The only other team without a road win is the Los Angeles Clippers, also 0-8.

The Wizards, who also dropped 10 consecutive road games in March, have lost 20 of 22 away from home.

Defense has been their big problem outside of Washington, ranking last in the Eastern Conference in points allowed (109.5 ppg) and opponents' field-goal percentage (50.1) in road games.

Washington will be without center Hilton Armstrong after he was suspended one game by the NBA for shoving Joel Anthony while the Miami player tried to make a layup.

Andray Blatche scored a season-high 26 points Monday, and his game-high 22 helped the Wall-less Wizards beat Toronto 109-94 on Nov. 16 in the only meeting this season.

The Raptors (6-11) followed that loss with a four-game winning streak, but they've since dropped two straight as Andrea Bargnani has gone cold.

After averaging 27.3 points during the win streak, Bargnani has totaled 25 over the last two games while going 10 of 30 from the field - 0 for 5 from 3-point range.

Toronto also is dealing with some key injuries. Reggie Evans has been lost indefinitely to a broken bone in his right foot, and Peja Stojakovic could miss a second straight game with a sore knee.

The absence of Evans, among the league leaders with 12.1 rebounds per game, began Sunday in a 96-78 home loss to Atlanta as the Raptors were outrebounded for only the fifth time this season.

"He is a big part of our team and it's really too bad," Bargnani said. "He was playing great but that kind of stuff can happen. Everyone is really upset about that."

The Raptors left their home floor to boos Sunday after being held to their lowest point total of the season. They're 1-6 when failing to score at least 100.

Raptors net their season high, top Wizards 127-108

TORONTO(AP) Wizards coach Flip Saunders was embarrassed. Kirk Hinrich was disappointed. Washington rookie John Wall compared it to a video game.

It was that kind of night for the Toronto Raptors.

DeMar DeRozan scored 20 points, Andrea Bargnani and Sonny Weems had 18 apiece and Toronto set a season high for points, beating the Washington Wizards 127-108 on Wednesday.

"Just an embarrassing effort," Saunders said. "There's always ways you can make excuses, being on the road, long trip, playing every other day in different cities but that's what this league is about. It's just very disappointing."

Leandro Barbosa and Jerryd Bayless each scored 16 for Toronto. For Bayless, it was a season high.

"Everybody was on tonight, hitting jump shots and getting to the basket," DeRozan said.

Jose Calderon had 11 points and eight assists as Toronto led by as many as 27 and avenged a 109-94 loss at Washington on Nov. 16. The Raptors shot 51 for 88 (58 percent), their highest percentage of the season.

"That's a video game stat," Wall said of Toronto's lofty shooting percentage. "That's like somebody who studied a video game so much that he knows exactly when to shoot and get any shot he wants. That's how they basically felt, they could get any shot at any time. They were getting dunk after dunk, layup after layups or foul after foul."

JaVale McGee scored 21 points for the Wizards, who have lost four straight and fell to 0-9 on the road. The Los Angeles Clippers (0-8) are the NBA's only other team without a road win.

This is the most consecutive road losses to begin a season in Wizards history.

"It's disappointing," Hinrich said. "We're very frustrated right now with our inability to go out there and perform and put forth a winning effort."

Wall returned from a two-game injury absence to score 19 points, Andray Blatche had 17 and Hinrich 15 for Washington.

Saunders said his team was flat at the morning shootaround and didn't get much better by game time, a sentiment shared by Blatche.

"We didn't come with the right mindset," he said. "Even at shootaround we were too lackadaisical. We didn't come out here to handle business and it showed on the court."

Raptors rookie Ed Davis made his season debut, collecting 11 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots in 24 minutes. Toronto's first-round pick last June, Davis injured his right knee before training camp and had surgery in September. He played with a heavy black brace on his leg.

"A little nervous at first but after I got down the court a couple of times the jitters wore off," Davis said.

Raptors coach Jay Triano said he was pleased with Davis' effort.

"He's got that look about him where it doesn't look like he's giving you (much), but then all of a sudden he's at the rim blocking shots," Triano said.

The Raptors led 34-25 after 12 minutes, then opened the second with a 8-2 run, forcing Saunders to call timeout with 10:19 left in the half.

Toronto kept pulling away and kept up its hot shooting, too. After a 15-for-24 showing in the first quarter, the Raptors went 17 for 24 in the second, and led 72-52 at the half.

DeRozan scored eight points in the third as Toronto took a 101-81 lead into the final quarter.

NOTES: Toronto's previous best was 110 points in a Nov. 12 victory at Orlando. The franchise high is 131 points, set last April 14 in a victory over the New York Knicks. ... Washington's Al Thornton returned after missing three games with a sore left ankle. ... Wizards center Hilton Armstrong sat out the game while serving a one-game suspension. Armstrong was called for a flagrant foul and ejected after shoving Joel Anthony in the third quarter of Monday's 105-94 loss at Miami. ... THE FACTS: The Toronto Raptors crushed the Washington Wizards 127-108 Wednesday night at the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors had seven players in double-figures, led by DeMar DeRozan's 20 points. Sonny Weems and Andrea Bargnani added 18 points apiece.

QUOTABLE: "Our bigs didn't protect, our coverages there was no communication. I'd like to say this morning, our shootaround was a non-communicative shootaround at times with our players. We talked about that. We just didn't have that edge tonight."

THE STAT: In the Raptors' last game, a loss against the Atlanta Hawks, they scored a total of 78 points on 30 made field goals. In the first half against the Wizards, the Raptors had 72 points on 32 made field goals.

TURNING POINT: Leading by nine at the end of the first quarter, the Raptors went on an 11-4 run to start the second quarter and extend their advantage to 16 points. Shooting 70 percent from the floor, the Raptors made 17 field goals in the quarter to Washington's nine and blew the game open by halftime with a 72-52 advantage.

QUOTABLE II: "Like Coach Flip and Coach Wittman said, we were walking around, acting like we didn't want to do nothing. We just weren't in to it. If you come like that early in the morning that's going to tell you how your game plan is. HOT: The Raptors finished the game shooting 58 percent from the floor. DeRozan shot 7-for-11 from the floor for a team-high 20 points while Bargnani was 8-for-13 for his 18 points. Jerryd Bayless shot 6-for-9 for 16 points off of the bench.

NOT: Gilbert Arenas finished the game just 1-for-10 from the floor, finishing with seven points in 29 minutes of action.

INSIDE THE ARENA: Former Raptor Jerome Williams was sitting courtside in a Raptors jersey and headband while rapper Drake was sitting on the baseline taking in the action.

ROOKIE WATCH: After missing his last two games with a sore left knee, Wall was back for the Wizards. He did not start, but came off of the bench to play 31 minutes. He finished the game with 19 points and nine assists.

Raptors rookie Ed Davis had a solid debut, finishing with 11 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes of action. It was the first game for Davis who had been rehabbing from arthroscopic surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee sustained during the offseason.

NOTABLE: The Raptors announced that Reggie Evans underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot. The procedure was performed in North Carolina. Evans is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks ... This road loss sets a new franchise record for the Wizards with nine consecutive road losses to start a season ... Toronto set season highs in points, points in a half, field goals made, field goal percentage, rebounds, assists and points in the paint.
