The Charlotte Bobcats' success at home last season helped them earn their first playoff berth in franchise history. This season, the Bobcats are the NBA's only remaining team without a victory there.

Charlotte will try to end that drought and avoid matching its longest home losing streak in team history by adding to its recent dominance of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.

The Bobcats broke their franchise record for home wins in 2009-10 by going 31-10 there en route to a 44-38 finish, good for seventh in the Eastern Conference.

This season, Charlotte (3-7) is 0-4 there but once again narrowly missed getting that first victory while also being denied a three-game winning streak.

Nazr Mohammed gave the Bobcats a three-point lead with 58 seconds left as part of a 22-point, 20-rebound performance. The Jazz, though, scored the final four points, including Deron Williams' short jumper with 0.8 to go, in a 96-95 win.

Charlotte has dropped its four home games by a combined 11 points and is on the verge of losing six in a row at home for the first time since Jan. 13-Feb. 1, 2006.

The Bobcats' current slide at Time Warner Cable Arena began April 14.

"It's something that we're going to learn from," guard D.J. Augustin told the team's website. "We've got to stick together, get better and rally up."

A matchup with the Timberwolves (3-8) could help the Bobcats begin that rally. Minnesota has lost six of seven in the series, including both of last season's meetings, and is 1-5 all-time in Charlotte.

The Timberwolves have also dropped 43 of 49 on the road but did win Wednesday night at Sacramento. They followed that with a home victory over New York but could not extend their win streak Sunday in Atlanta.

However there were a couple of positives from that 111-105 defeat, namely the continuing impressive performances from Kevin Love and Michael Beasley.

Love had 22 points and 17 rebounds after registering career highs of 31 points and 31 boards in the win over New York. Beasley, in his first season in Minnesota, is averaging 34.0 points in his last three games and scored a team-best 25 against the Hawks despite being in foul trouble.

Love, pulling down a league-best 14.6 rebounds per game, has averaged 19.7 points and 18.1 boards while recording double-doubles in five of six games.

However, Beasley, Love and guard Sebastian Telfair also combined for 15 of their team's 21 turnovers Sunday.

"There were so many little things we were doing wrong," coach Kurt Rambis said. "Guys aren't consistently doing the right things. ... Guys are going to find ways to contribute and we have to continue to get better so we don't let those little things come back and haunt us."

Rambis' club dressed only 10 players Sunday and could be shorthanded again in this game. Center Nikola Pekovic sat out with an sprained left ankle against the Hawks, and guard Wayne Ellington has not played in the past four contests because of a bruised left thigh.

Thanks to its home dominance over Minnesota, Charlotte holds an 8-4 lead in the series.

Wallace, Bobcats rally to beat Wolves 113-110

CHARLOTTE, N.C.(AP) Winless at home and trailing by eight with less than two minutes to go, things looked beyond bleak for owner Michael Jordan's Charlotte Bobcats.

Then came the barrage of clutch shots and big steals. Minnesota started to look like the inexperienced team it is, and Jordan was soon pumping his fist and clapping after an improbable victory.

Behind Gerald Wallace's 26 points, franchise-record 17 made free throws and his key steal late, the Bobcats became the last NBA team to win at home by beating the Timberwolves 113-110 on Monday night.

"This team needed to step up and make big plays late and be rewarded for it," coach Larry Brown said.

Stephen Jackson also scored 26 points and hit a 3-pointer in a 10-1 run that put Charlotte ahead. Tyrus Thomas added 20 points and 10 rebounds, ripped the ball away from Michael Beasley in the closing moments, grabbed a key rebound and hit the clinching free throw with 1.5 seconds left.

"It feels good to finally get over the hump," said Wallace, who hit 17-of-19 free throws.

The closing stretch was a hard lesson for the young Timberwolves, whose recent strong play was tempered by a mistake-filled finish that included two late turnovers by Beasley to go with his 28 points.

"I feel like it was my fault today," Beasley said. "I don't feel good at all knowing my two turnovers changed the game."

Kevin Love added 20 points and nine rebounds, and returned to the game after a scary fall sidelined him briefly during Charlotte's comeback with a thigh injury. And rookie Wesley Johnson also missed two free throws with Minnesota trailing 112-110 with 3.5 seconds left.

"It's just something that we're going to have to figure out," said Love, who entered the game with 53 points and 48 rebounds in the past two games. "Charlotte has a lot of veterans and down the stretch they know how to execute and win."

That hadn't been the case at home, however. The Bobcats struggled late in all four of their previous home losses, including Saturday, when they blew a 19-point lead and lost to Utah.

Thomas capped Charlotte's 10-1 run when his steal of Beasley led to D.J. Augustin's transition layup to put Charlotte ahead 109-108 with 49 seconds left.

Beasley put back his own miss with 34 seconds remaining to put Minnesota ahead again before Wallace hit two free throws at the other end.

Wallace then knocked the ball away from Beasley and hit one free throw to make it 112-110.

Wallace missed the second shot and Love's legs got tangled up with Thomas on the rebound and he clutched his right thigh. The Timberwolves controlled the ensuing jump ball, and Wallace inexplicably fouled Johnson.

The rookie missed the first free throw and intentionally missed the second. Thomas grabbed the rebound and hit one free throw.

Anthony Tolliver then made contact with Wallace before throwing up a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer, but no foul was called and the shot didn't hit the rim.

"When it came down to it, our defense let us down," coach Kurt Rambis said. "We couldn't get the stops that we needed at critical junctures of the game."

The Timberwolves lost for the 44th time in 50 road games, despite Beasley's fourth straight game of at least 25 points. Darko Milicic added 13 points and 12 rebounds for Minnesota, which again dressed only 10 players because of injuries as point guard Sebastian Telfair continues to play with a sore foot.

The Bobcats overcame 17 turnovers in the debut of Kwame Brown. Sidelined since before training camp with a severely sprained left ankle, Brown had three points, three rebounds and three blocks in 11 minutes.

"It feels good to get a win at home," Jackson said. "Hopefully we can make it contagious, continue to win at home and get our fans back in here."

Notes: Rambis said G Luke Ridnour (hamstring) could return as soon as Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, but he "seriously doubts" G Jonny Flynn (hip) will. "He doesn't feel comfortable getting out there right now," Rambis said. "He had a couple of real hard workouts back to back and got very sore because of them." ... Ken Mauer hit Jackson with his fourth technical foul of the season. ... Telfair was charged with a third-quarter flagrant foul for whacking Augustin in the head on a fast break. ... Bobcats G Gerald Henderson (knee) missed his second straight game.

THE FACTS: Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson scored 26 points each as the Charlotte Bobcats rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter for a 113-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday night at Time Warner Cable Arena. Tyrus Thomas added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats while Michael Beasley had a game-high 28 points to lead the Timberwolves.

QUOTABLE: "I feel real confident in myself and I know what I can do. At the beginning of games I can see how much guys are going to let me get away with. I saw they didn't want to guard me and Gerald (Wallace) and that we could probably get anything we wanted on offense."

THE STAT: Minnesota committed just seven turnovers in the first three quarters of the game, but had four in the final quarter. Despite his 28 points, Michael Beasley committed two turnovers in the final minute of play which lead directly to three Bobcats points.

TURNING POINT: Beasley was stripped by Jackson with 52.9 seconds left and D.J.Augustin scored off that turnover to give the Bobcats their first lead since the 10:25 of the fourth.

HOT: Beasley. The Minnesota forward scored 28 on Monday and is averaging 32.5 points over his last four contests while connecting on 54.5 percent of his shots. He averaged just 14.7 points in his first seven games with the Timberwolves.

FANTASY SPOTLIGHTS: Charlotte guard Jackson scored 26 points on 9-for-16 shooting, including five of his six 3-point attempts. He also added three assists, two rebounds a steal and was perfect from the free-throw line. Thomas registered 20 points on an efficient 8-for-11 shooting night. He also added 10 rebounds, four blocks and two steals.

ROOKIE WATCH: Minnesota guard Wesley Johnson got another start Monday night and netted four points, grabbed two rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked two shots while fellow rookie Lazar Hayward was whistled for three fouls in just six minutes of action. Charlotte guard Sherron Collins saw eight minutes of action and registered one assist.

NOTABLE: Charlotte forward Kwame Brown made his Bobcats debut at the 3:02 mark of the first quarter. He finished the game with three blocked shots, three points and three rebounds in 11 minutes of action. The Timberwolves have now lost 44 of their last 50 games. Gerald Wallace made more free throws than the Timberwolves did as a team. Wallace was 17-for-19 and Minnesota made 15 of its 23 attempts. The 17 makes by Wallace also set a franchise record for made free throws. D.J. Augustin tied his career high in assists with 11 and committed just one turnover. Timberwolves center Darko Milicic recorded his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds and tied his career-high for assists with five. Minnesota forward Kevin Love recorded his sixth game this season with at least 20 points.
