Dwyane Wade is dealing with back and wrist problems as he tries to continue another high-scoring start, but his Miami Heat are feeling good after a resounding victory over one of the Eastern Conference's top contenders.

Wade is expected to play through his injuries as the Heat go for a third straight victory on Sunday, while the visiting Portland Trail Blazers will be trying to reverse a troubling trend of road defeats.

A sore right wrist didn't stop Wade from scoring 25 points with seven assists before sitting out the fourth quarter of a 104-86 blowout win over Orlando on Thursday night, but the NBA's leading scorer in 2008-09 added upper back spasms to his list of problems after they limited him in practice on Saturday.

His scoring average is down this season, but Wade still ranks fifth in the league with 26.6 points per game. He's also gotten more help from teammate Michael Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 draft who is showing improvement in his second season.

Beasley is averaging 25.0 points in his last two games, both Miami victories. The team shot 51.9 percent against the Magic and led by 29 after three quarters.

"I think if we continue to play with this focus, play with this energy, we'll be a pretty tough team to beat," Beasley said.

Miami (13-11) also cruised past Toronto 115-95 on Tuesday, responding to a pair of team meetings that followed last Sunday's 28-point loss to Memphis - its fourth straight home defeat.

Beasley shot 2 of 11 from the field and scored a season-low six points against the Grizzlies.

"It's been a good week for us to grow and that's part of the development of this team," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "In the NBA, that's sometimes what you have to do is sequester yourself when you have adversity. There's so many things."

Adversity has been no stranger to the banged-up Blazers, who are playing without injured contributors Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez, Travis Outlaw and Nicolas Batum.

It likely won't help that Portland (16-12) will be playing fewer than 24 hours after Saturday's 92-83 loss at Orlando, its seventh defeat in their last eight road games. The Blazers' road trip likely won't get much easier, as they visit Dallas and San Antonio after Miami.

Only seven Portland players logged more than 10 minutes against the Magic as Brandon Roy continues to carry a heavy load. Roy scored 33 points while playing at least 42 minutes for the fourth straight game.

The Blazers likely need more from LaMarcus Aldridge, who had season lows in points (three) and rebounds (one) despite playing 31 minutes. Portland's starting frontcourt of Aldridge, Martell Webster and Joel Przybilla combined for just nine points and 18 rebounds as the Magic held a 54-35 edge on the boards.

"It felt like a winnable game, but Orlando made the plays in the fourth quarter and got the stops they needed," Roy said. "LaMarcus is a big part of what we do and we couldn't get him going."

Aldridge was injured and missed the Blazers' first meeting with the Heat, a 107-100 Miami victory in Portland on Dec. 1. Beasley scored 27 points in that game, leading the Heat as they snapped a four-game losing streak to the Blazers.

Roy comes up big in 4th to drop Heat 102-95

MIAMI (NBA.com exclusive) -- Portland guard Brandon Roy makes a living by winning games, and the two-time All-Star definitely earned his keep in Sunday's 102-95 victory at Miami.

Roy, who finished with 28 points, scored all 11 of his fourth-quarter points in the final 4:28 to help the Trail Blazers overcome an 87-83 deficit and get a crucial win on this brutal four-game road trip.

"He's an All-Star," Portland coach Nate McMillan said, "and All-Stars are capable of doing that."

Portland (17-12), which has had a plethora of injuries to key personnel, including center Greg Oden (knee), swingman Nicolas Batum (shoulder), guard Rudy Fernandez (sciatic pain), forward Travis Outlaw (foot) and even McMillan (Achilles tendon), entered Sunday's game having lost seven of its previous 11 games. In the bigger picture for Portland, this was the second game of a brutal road trip that has the Blazers playing four games in five days, which means it plays two sets of back-to-backs. The swing started with Saturday's 92-83 loss at Orlando and continues with back-to-back games at Dallas (Tuesday) and San Antonio (Wednesday).

"This was a huge road win for us," said Roy, who was a perfect 5-for-5 on three-pointers, including a dagger with 28.7 seconds left to give the Blazers a seven-point lead. Miami's schedule is about to hit its roughest point. Portland was the fifth game of a six-game homestand, and the Heat (13-12) is 2-3 in this stretch at the AAA. The homestand concludes with Tuesday's game at Utah, and then the Heat hits the road for 22 of its next 31 games starting with a Christmas Day matchup at New York.

"We have to re-group and continue to grind it out," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

"We're making positive steps forward. We keep banging our heads as we move forward, but we just have to figure it out." Roy, who also had eight assists, started his late-game scoring binge with an old-school three-point play ,a jumper and a free throw, to cut Portland's deficit to 87-86. Then came a three-point jumper to tie the game at 89. Then he hit a 16-foot fadeaway jumper to give the Blazers a 94-92 lead. And then came the clincher. With 28.7 seconds left, Roy elevated and hit a three-pointer with Heat superstar guard Dwyane Wade right in his face to give Portland an insurmountable 99-92 lead. "When great players make shots like that there's nothing you can do about it," Wade said.

"I wanted to be aggressive," said Roy, who leads the NBA with 10 consecutive games of 20 or more points. "I wanted to make sure I had some legs down the stretch to try to give ourselves a chance to win." Wade also finished with 28 points, tying Roy for the game high. But Wade, who was battling back spasms, only had four points on 2-for-6 shooting in the decisive fourth quarter.

"He's a great player, and not only that he's a great closer," Roy said. "We forced him into some tough misses in the paint. Joel and LaMarcus did a great job of coming over. One man can't guard him."

Portland got offensive support from Aldridge (23 points, eight rebounds), Andre Miller (17 points) and Martell Webster (15 points). Miami got 22 points from Richardson, who tied a team record by going 7-for-7 on three-pointers, 17 points from second-year forward Michael Beasley and 12 points from O'Neal.

But after taking an 87-81 lead with 5:28 left the Heat was outscored, 21-8, as Portland made plays at both ends off the court. Most importantly, The Blazers forced Miami to miss five of its last six shots, a trait which figures to come in handy in a best-of-seven playoff series.

"The main thing was defensively we had to get stops, which we did," McMillan said.
