Despite the absence so many players, Charlotte held an 82-81 lead with two minutes left in the third quarter thanks to 21 points off the bench from Matt Carroll.
However, Los Angeles countered with a 21-2 burst over the next 10 1/2 minutes to break open the game. Brian Cook tallied the final six points of the surge and finished with 14 points.
The Lakers still were without rookie Andrew Bynum, who has a slight abdominal tear. Luke Walton'shamstring strain kept him out for the fourth straight game.
