** Traded to Milwaukee on Draft night
Dortch: Tireless work ethic helping Harris climb Draft charts
Strengths:
* Versatility
* Good handle
* Good passer
* Crafty scorer around the basket
* Strong work ethic
Weaknesses:
* Defensive lapses
* Three-point shot is inconsistent
NBA projection:
Harris hasn't hired an agent and says there's a possibility he may return to school to play for new Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin, whom he has publicly praised. But if he chooses to remain in the draft, Harris is a first-round pick based on his age, his potential and his work ethic. He already prepares like a professional.
2010-11 Season:
Harris was voted to the All-SEC second team and the All-SEC Freshman team while finished second on his team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.
Key statistics:
15.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.8 tpg, 0.8 bpg, 29.2 mpg, .460 FG, .303 3PT, .753 FT
Cool statistic: Only three freshmen ranked in the top five in scoring and rebounding among all freshmen in the power conferences: Ohio State's Jared Sullinger, Kentucky's Terrence Jones and Tobias Harris.
Reminds me of:
Clark Kellogg
What Insiders Say:
Former Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl
"He's got the work ethic of a pro. He's in gym every morning at 7 and he's the last player to leave the gym every night."
What Outsiders Say:
Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun
"[Tobias Harris is] probably one of the best 25 players in the country. He's got an all-around game, and as he matures he's going to be a special guy."
