PORTLAND, Ore. (August 13, 2014) – The Portland Trail Blazers will tip-off their 45th NBA season at the Moda Center vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Oct. 29, it was announced today by the NBA. JIM TEST
The Trail Blazers are featured 16 times on national television, six games on TNT and 10 on ESPN. All 82 Trail Blazers games will be aired by national carriers or the Trail Blazers Broadcast Television Network. Portland's complete broadcast schedule will be available in the coming weeks.
The Trail Blazers will open with nine of their first 12 games at home, and play 10 of 16 December games on the road. A season-long, seven-game homestand straddles the New Year from Dec. 26-Jan. 10.
Among the highlights at the Moda Center in 2014-15: the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs make a return to Portland on Dec. 15 and Feb. 25; the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers come to town on Nov. 4; the L.A. Lakers make two trips on Jan. 5 and Feb. 11; and the Houston Rockets travel to the Rose City for one game on March 11.
Portland will take on 10 of 14 Western Conference opponents twice at home and twice on the road, while playing Golden State, Houston, New Orleans and Sacramento only three times apiece. Of those matchups, the Trail Blazers host Golden State and New Orleans twice, and Houston and Sacramento once. The club will face each Eastern Conference team twice.
The Trail Blazers will close out the regular season on Wednesday, April 15 at Dallas. The regular-season home finale is Saturday, April 11 vs. Utah.
Portland ranked fifth in the NBA in home attendance last season, including 28 sellouts.
