Preview: Portland at Dallas

Getting healthy is the main focus for the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks, who both are locked into their respective playoff seeds in the Western Conference.

Blazers coach Terry Stotts is hoping LaMarcus Aldridge will be able to play when Portland visits Dallas in the regular-season finale Wednesday night.

Aldridge has a left foot sprain that has kept him out of the last two games for the Northwest Division champion Blazers (51-30), who are the fourth seed in the West but won't have home-court advantage in the first round because they will finish with a worse record than the No. 5 seed.

Arron Afflalo will miss up to two weeks with a right shoulder strain, and his replacement in the starting lineup, C.J. McCollum, sprained his left ankle at the end of the first half of Monday's 101-90 loss to Oklahoma City.

McCollum didn't return, nor did Nicolas Batum after he hurt his right knee in the first quarter. Chris Kaman also tweaked his back in the first half.

Damian Lillard finished with 10 points against the Thunder after sitting for the entire fourth quarter.

Stotts isn't sure what his lineup will look like against Dallas, but he's hoping Aldridge will suit up.

"I'll take (resting players) into consideration," Stotts said. "But I think it's important that if (Aldridge) can play that he (plays). He's been out for a little bit, so I think that's important to kind of keep the edge. But how much (he'll play), that's to be seen."

McCollum and Batum both said their injuries aren't serious.

"I want to play as many games as I can, but obviously it's the last game of the season (and) it's meaningless," McCollum said. "(Dallas) probably won't play a lot of their starters and main guys, (so) it's probably best for me to wait until the playoffs."

The Mavericks (49-32) are locked into the seventh seed and rested Dirk Nowitzki, Tyson Chandler and Monta Ellis for Monday's 109-92 loss to Utah. Coach Rick Carlisle is more worried about the health of Chandler Parsons, who missed his fifth straight game with a knee injury.

Parsons is considered day to day, but it seems unlikely he'll be in uniform for this contest.

"Am I concerned? Yeah, I'm concerned," Carlisle said. "The next couple days we will get back home and he will continue to rehab. ... We will see where we are. We are not going to take any risks with it."

Devin Harris left in the second quarter with a toe injury and didn't return. He's likely to sit out Wednesday as Dallas goes for its first 50-win season since 2010-11.

Rajon Rondo finished with 13 points and five assists as the Mavericks had a three-game winning streak snapped, although he could rest against Portland.

"You know, we had guys out (Monday), but I'm not worried at all," Rondo said. "(The playoffs are) getting closer, but we have one more game to sharpen some things up."

With key players being out, Carlisle is looking for his regular reserves to step up with extra minutes. J.J. Barea scored 18 points against the Jazz, while Amar'e Stoudemire and Charlie Villanueva added 15 apiece.

"We've played a lot of games this year without multiple starters and won some," Carlisle said. "It's not easy, but you've got to find a way."

The Blazers have won two of three meetings, including a 94-75 victory in the most recent matchup March 5. Aldridge has a 4-14 career record in his hometown of Dallas, including the playoffs, but has averaged 28.3 points and 14.3 rebounds in his last three visits.
