Trail Blazers Finalize Athletic Training Staff For 2013-14 Season

PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept. 27, 2013) – The Portland Trail Blazers have finalized their Athletic Training Staff for the 2013-14 season, it was announced today by General Manager Neil Olshey.

Led by Director of Player Health and Performance Dr. Chris Stackpole, the staff includes Geoff Clark as Head Athletic Trainer, Todd Forcier as Sports Performance Specialist, Ben Kenyon as Sports Performance Specialist and Ben Pringle as Head Athletic Trainer for the Idaho Stampede.

Entering his first season as the team’s Director of Player Health and Performance, Stackpole works to collaboratively provide preventative maintenance and rehabilitative health care to Trail Blazers players. He joins the organization after working as a private consultant for professional athletes and conducting his post professional fellowship at ProEx Physical Therapy in Farmington, Conn.

The veteran member of the training staff and Head Athletic Trainer, Clark returns for his 15th season with the Trail Blazers. A member of the medical staff at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, Clark spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system and eight years working in outpatient physical therapy where he also worked with the Yakima Sun Kings of the CBA.

Commencing his fourth season in Portland, Forcier serves as one of two Sports Performance Specialists for the 2013-14 season. Certified in CSCS, ART and a licensed massage therapist, Forcier has held strength and conditioning positions at the University of Kentucky, Syracuse University, the University of Dayton and UNLV.

Joining the Trail Blazers from George Washington University, Kenyon steps into his first season as Sports Performance Specialist after serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning for the Colonials, a position that oversees strength and conditioning and nutrition for all 23 varsity sports.

Pringle enters his first season as Head Athletic Trainer for the Trail Blazers’ D-League affiliate, the Idaho Stampede. Pringle previously served as the Certified Athletic Training Intern for the Blazers from 2007-09 before leaving to join the Maine Red Claws as Head Athletic Trainer from 2009-11.
