Lakers' Mozgov misses game (eye) vs. Hawks

ATLANTA (AP) — The Los Angeles Lakers are without injured center Timofey Mozgov for Wednesday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Mozgov suffered a left eye contusion Tuesday night in a loss at Indiana.

Rookie Ivica Zubac of Croatia will make his NBA debut as the fill-in starter for Mozgov. Zubac, 19, will face a challenging matchup against Hawks veteran center Dwight Howard.

The Lakers said results were inconclusive from a CT scan on Mozgov to find possible additional injuries. Mozgov will have additional tests and will be examined by team doctors on Thursday when the team returns to Los Angeles.

The 7-foot-1 Mozgov, from Russia, is averaging 8.5 points and 6.0 rebounds.
