SUNS SIGN BOL BOL

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns today announced that the team has signed free agent forward/center Bol Bol.

“Bol brings unique skills and abilities to our forward and center positions, which further enhances our depth and versatility,” said Suns President of Basketball Operations and General Manager James Jones. “His continued growth and development will help make us a more complete team.”

Bol averaged career highs of 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 21.5 minutes while playing a career-best 70 games with the Orlando Magic during the 2022-23 season. He shot 54.6% from the field and ranked 19th in the league in both blocks per game and total blocks (85). The 7’-2”, 220-pound forward/center recorded career bests with 29 games scoring in double figures, including six games with 20-plus points, seven games with double-digit rebounds and six double-doubles. Over 15 games in the month of November, Bol averaged 14.2 points on 58.4% shooting from the field and 44.4% from three-point range, 8.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks, scoring a career-high 26 points on Nov. 16 vs. Minnesota and grabbing a career-high 15 rebounds on Nov. 11 against the Suns.

Holding four seasons of NBA experience, the 23-year-old has averaged 6.3 points on 53.3% shooting from the field and 3.8 rebounds in 123 career games with the Denver Nuggets and the Magic. He has also appeared in seven career playoff games with Denver. Possessing a 9’-8” standing reach and a 7’-7” wingspan, Bol has averaged 2.0 blocks per 36 minutes for his career.

Bol was the 44th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft following one collegiate season at the University of Oregon. Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Bol’s father is the late Manute Bol, a renowned humanitarian who twice led the league in blocks while playing 10 NBA seasons.
