“I’m grateful to the many friends I have in professional hockey who have agreed to lace up their skates and play,” said Roadrunners president Claude Lemieux, who made the announcement along with Burke and May at the press conference. “This will be a great way to reintroduce professional hockey to downtown Phoenix, in advance of our season opening in October.”

the club’s new logo. The logo incorporates the traditional Rocky Roadrunner, used by each of the previous versions of the Roadrunners, from the Western Hockey League entry in 1967 to the International Hockey League Roadrunners in 1997.

“The ECHL Phoenix Roadrunners will maintain a strong link to the tradition of Roadrunner teams of the past,” said Lemieux. “The logo is a part of that tradition.”

The team also unveiled its player uniforms, which includes two home uniforms (primary and alternate) as well as a road uniform.
