Suns Dancers to Host Clinic

Posted: Nov. 11, 2010

For any girl that ever wanted to know what it took to become a Suns Dancer, here’s your chance. The Suns Dancers are hosting a dance clinic on Saturday, November 13 from 1-5 p.m. at US Airways Center in Phoenix.

Six of the Suns Dancers, along with the Suns Dancers Manager Kari Herrick, will be teaching the girls routines throughout the course of the day. The clinic, which will be held for girls from 8 to 18 years old, will be broken up into two groups.

Girls aged 8 to 12 years old will be in one group, while the girls aged 13 to 18 will be in another. The younger girls will be learning family-friendly routines, while the older girls will learn routines similar to the ones performed by the Suns Dancers on game nights.

“Growing up, I always aspired to be a professional dancer,” Herrick said. “This gives young girls, as well as high school girls, the opportunity to learn from professionals first-hand.”

Families and friends of the participants are invited to watch them perform towards the end of the clinic. At the conclusion of the clinic, autographs, photographs with the Suns Dancers and a short Q&A session will be made available for the participants.

Registration runs from 1-1:30 p.m., followed by dance instruction. The cost of the clinic is $35, which can be paid for via cash or check (checks can be made out to the Phoenix Suns).

Free parking will be made available through US Airways Center's garage and access will be granted through the southeast-entrance doors. For any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Kari at kherrick@suns.com or call her at 602-379-7927.

Participants are encouraged to bring water and snacks of their own. Unless the particpants are 18 years old, all participants must have their parents sign a waiver.
