The Suns' throwback flair has caught the attention of the national media.

Phoenix came in at No. 4 on the countdown with its retro tank top promotion for college night, brought to you by Red Bull. The item, which features the iconic sunburst logo, will be given to the first 2,000 fans in attendance for the team's Wednesday home game against the Detroit Pistons.
"Sometimes, it's just the perfect execution that counts," Rovell wrote. "This is one of those times. For "College Night," the Phoenix Suns are giving away a retro tank top, which will undoubtedly take people who were in college in the early '90s, back to the days of KJ and Majerle. For current college kids who weren't born then, the tank top play also has massive appeal."

The team will host a pregame tailgate for fans of all ages in the Coors Light Cold Zone, featuring $5 Coors Lights and 50 percent off The American Poutine Co. food truck for college students with a valid student ID. Additionally, students at the game will receive 40 percent off all merchandise in the Suns Team Shop when they present their college ID upon checkout.
Fans can expect to see a number of college-themed on-court contests throughout the night, as well as a seat upgrade promotion where students will have the opportunity to “graduate to better seats” at the game. In addition, all students who purchase a ticket through the Suns Student Pass initiative will receive an exclusive Suns College Cup giveaway.
All college and high school students are encouraged to sign up for Suns Student Pass, a program designed to provide students in the Valley with access to last-minute Suns tickets for as low as $5 per game.
