Averaged career highs in points, rebounds, assists, steals and field goals (6.0). Held the sixth-highest field goal percentage in the league while ranking second in the NBA in offensive rebounds (4.9) and box outs (9.0). Among centers, ranked second in total steals (117) and third in +/- (389). On 12/19 at Sacramento, registered 20 points and a career-best 23 rebounds, marking just the third time a Thunder player recorded a 20/20 points/rebounds game (Kanter 4/6/16, Ibaka 2/19/18). On the same night, the Thunder became the first NBA team since 1995 to have a player with over 40 points (Paul George), a different player with over 20 rebounds (Steven Adams) and a different player with a triple-double (Russell Westbrook) (Mavericks, 4/11/95: Jamal Mashburn, Popeye Jones, Jason Kidd). From 12/7 to 12/14, produced a four-game streak in which he scored 20+ points, the longest such streak of his career. On 3/3 vs. Memphis, finished one board shy of his career high as he finished with a double-double of 13 points and 22 rebounds. 2012-13 (Freshman): Named to the Big East All-Rookie Team as well as Big East Preseason Rookie of the Year. Started in all 32 of his career games played. Ranked first all-time at Pitt in field goal percentage (57.1 percent), second in blocked shots (63), and sixth in rebounds for freshman seasons (192). Ranked first on team in rebounds per game (6.3) and blocks per game (2.0). Ranked fifth on team in scoring with 7.2 points per game. Scored in double figures on six occasions. Scored a careerhigh 16 points along with 10 rebounds against Bethune Cookman. Grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds along with eight points against Duquesne. Scored 13 points along with 11 rebounds in an NCAA Tournament game against Wichita State. Blocked a career-high five shots against South Florida.

PERSONAL LIFE

First lottery pick and first-round pick to come out of New Zealand in NBA Draft history. The self-proclaimed unicorn is one of 18 siblings, six of whom played basketball for New Zealand. All of his brothers stand around 6-10 to 6-11 and his sisters 6-5 to 6-6. His half-sister, Dame Valerie, is a 2008 and 2016 Olympic champion and four-time world champion in the shot put. Favorite movie is “Nacho Libre” and favorite song is “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Plays guitar in his free time. Lists Meatloaf as his favorite music artist and Wesley Snipes as his celebrity look-alike.
