Jeffrey Lynn Green was born in Cheverly, Maryland in 1986. He broke out high school, starring at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. As a senior, he averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game, leading his team to a state championship. Green moved on to play collegiate basketball at Georgetown University, where he spent three years and played in a combined 102 games -- all of which were starts. Green's mom, Felicia, attended every one of his collegiate home games, and fans welcomed her to the arena with a special chant each time.
