Jeffrey Lynn Green was born in Cheverly, Maryland in 1986. He broke out high school, starring at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. As a senior, he averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game, leading his team to a state championship. Green moved on to play collegiate basketball at Georgetown University, where he spent three years and played in a combined 102 games -- all of which were starts. Green's mom, Felicia, attended every one of his collegiate home games, and fans welcomed her to the arena with a special chant each time. You can follow Green on Twitter and Instagram (@Unclejeffgreen). Green was the Big East Player of the Year as a junior in the 2006-07 season. Additionally, the guard garnered the 2007 Big East Tournament MVP. Green helped lead Georgetown to the 2007 NCAA Tournament semi-final before the Hoyas fell to Ohio State. Green averaged 14.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game over the five contests in the tournament. He was named to the All-Big East First Team as well, as the Hyattsville, Maryland native led Georgetown in points per game (14.3) and was second in rebounds (6.4) and assists (3.2) per game during the 2006-07 season. Green announced he would enter the 2007 NBA Draft after his junior season. He was drafted fifth overall by the Boston Celtics.
