Parents are Sonya Clowney and Larry Byrd… From Spartanburg, S.C., and attended Dorman High School… Became the first player from his high school to be selected in the NBA Draft… Played AAU for the Team Dickerson Celtics, where he averaged 17.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game… Attended and competed at the NBPA Top 100 camp in 2021 and was ranked among the top 10 post players in intensity and two-way skills… Was rated as the top prep player in South Carolina and was a four-star recruit… Rated as the 68th overall high school recruit (19th center) by ESPN, 73rd nationally (13th center) by Rivals and 99th overall (18th power forward) by 247Sports in the 2022 class.
