What happened: Beal suffered the injury during the first quarter of Friday’s game against the Knicks. It was Beal’s third game back from a lower back sprain, which has sidelined him for most of the season.
Beal’s impact: Acquired in a trade with Washington this summer, the All-Star guard is averaging 14.7 points, 3.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds over six games this season.
The Suns (14-12) will turn to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to shoulder more of the load with Beal sidelined for the remainder of 2023. Durant, Booker and Beal have played just one game together this season before Friday.
