Stats Breakdown: Preview of Game 4 of the NBA Finals

Take a deeper look at some important stats to know before Game 4 in Miami.

Before Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals tips off on Friday (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC), we look at some key stats from the first three games of the series — ball movement, shooting percentage from inside and outside the 3-point line and the effectiveness of on-ball screens for each team.

The Denver duo of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic has shared the ball beautifully throughout this series. Their nine assists to one another in Game 1 set a Finals record for the play-by-play era that they broke two games later with 11 dimes to each other in Game 3. In addition to their passing, the on-ball screen action between Jokic and Murray has been extremely effective in generating offense for the Nuggets.

For Miami, we look at the disparity in their 3-point shooting in wins compared to losses during the regular season, playoffs and Finals. We also break down the 2-point shooting in the Finals, as Miami struggled to make shots near the basket in their Game 3 loss.
