Reports: Seth Curry reaches agreement with Portland Trail Blazers

Shooting guard Seth Curry will join the Portland Trail Blazers on a two-year deal, according to multiple reports.

Curry, the younger brother of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, last played in the NBA in 2016-17, averaging 12.8 points and shooting 42.5 percent on 3-pointers.

Here’s more from Joe Freeman of The Oregonian on Curry’s deal with the Blazers:

Seth Curry, the younger brother of two-time MVP Stephen Curry, agreed Monday to a 2-year free agent contract with the Blazers, a league source confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive.

The deal, first reported by ESPN, features $2.75 million in salary for the 2018-19 season and a player option the following year.

Curry, a 6-foot-2 guard, missed last season with a left leg injury that required late-season surgery on his tibia. But he had a breakout season in 2016-17 with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 12.8 points and 2.7 assists, while shooting 42.5 percent from three point range, in 70 games.

In Portland, he will join a Blazers’ bench in transformation. During the first two days of free agency, the Blazers have cut ties with rotation players Ed Davis, Pat Connaughton and Shabazz Napier and agreed to free agent deals with Curry and Nik Stauskas.

He missed all of last season with a stress reaction in his left tibia.
