Nicolas Batum breaks finger in Hornets' win

The rebuilding Hornets could be without one of their veterans for the foreseeable future.

Nicolas Batum exited Wednesday’s season opener against Chicago after sustaining a right hand injury in the third quarter. X-rays after the game confirmed that the 30-year-old had suffered a fracture in his third finger.

Batum played just 11 minutes off the bench for the Hornets — who edged the Bulls 126-125 in Charlotte — and contributed four rebounds and two assists without attempting a shot.
