After a massive Monday card, we have a tiny Tuesday slate to dissect. We only have four games making up this card, and it’ll be nice to look at a smaller player pool after that mayhem on Monday. I love playing these smaller slates because we get a good read on the rotations and who the best values are. With that in mind, let’s start by looking at the schedule and the odds.
Core plays
Devin Booker (PG/SG – PHX): $9,700 DraftKings, $10,200 FanDuel
Book has taken over as the starting point guard in Phoenix, playing the best basketball of his career. Booker has scored at least 43 DraftKings points in all but one game this season, generating a 50-point average. That’s no surprise since his usage rate has been skyrocketing in this newfound role, and we don’t want to fade him against Portland. Book has at least 39 DK points in all four of their matchups since the start of last season.
Jayson Tatum (SF/PF – BOS): $9,500 DraftKings, $9,800 FanDuel
Tatum is one of the most underrated superstars in our sport, establishing a sensational ceiling as the primary playmaker for the Celtics. JT has scored at least 35 DraftKings points in all but one game this year, posting a 53-point average. He’s also got at least 43 fantasy points in five straight fixtures, which should be his floor in a premier matchup with Golden State. In their most recent meeting, Tatum tallied 74 fantasy points in one of the best performances of his career.
Cash game considerations
Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF/C – MIL): $11,000 DraftKings, $11,900 FanDuel
Giannis was slow to get going in his first few weeks with Damian Lillard, but he’s playing like an MVP right now. Antetokounmpo has scored at least 58 DraftKings points in eight of his last nine outings while showcasing a 96-point upside just a few days ago. Not many players in the NBA can reach 100 DK points, but Giannis could in this matchup. San Antonio sits last in both points allowed and defensive efficiency.
Kevin Durant (SF/PF – PHX): $9,600 DraftKings, $10,000 FanDuel
It’s hard to believe that Phoenix is struggling because Book and KD have been brilliant all season. KD has scored at least 39 DraftKings points every game, accruing a 50-point average. That’s the floor you want from a cash game option, and we didn’t even mention that Durant has dropped at least 47 fantasy points in 14 of his last 15 matchups with Portland.
GPP targets
Khris Middleton (SF – MIL): $6,400 DraftKings, $6,700 FanDuel
We were waiting for Middleton to return to a full allotment of minutes, and it feels like we’re almost there. The former All-Star has played at least 29 minutes in five consecutive outings, scoring at least 38 DraftKings points in four of those. That’s an absurd total from such an affordable player, and these sites are clearly slow to adjust to this expanded role. In addition, San Antonio is surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing forwards.
Jrue Holiday (PG/SG – BOS): $6,700 DraftKings, $6,800 FanDuel
Holiday has taken a step back in this Boston offense, but his price is getting too cheap. We’ve typically seen this guy around $8K, and he’ll eventually get closer to that the more he becomes acclimated with this offense. It’s not like he’s been terrible either, averaging over 31 DraftKings points per game. Jrue should also play 35-40 minutes to guard Stephen Curry, scoring 44 fantasy points against them in their last matchup.
Value Plays
Brandin Podziemski (PG/SG – GSW): $6,100 DraftKings, $6,200 FanDuel
We never thought this kid would become a prominent part of this rotation, but he’s taken Andrew Wiggins’s spot as the starting small forward. That’s hard to believe, but it’s led to Podz averaging 33 DK points per game across his last four fixtures. You can’t ask for any more from a player in this price range, and this rookie is only getting better each game.
Grayson Allen (SG/SF – PHX): $5,500 DraftKings, $5,700 FanDuel
Allen was a solid signing in the offseason, and he’s being asked to play monster minutes for this shorthanded team. GA has played at least 33 minutes in nine consecutive outings, averaging 27 DK points per game across 37 minutes a night. It’s impossible to find a player in this price range who plays 35-40 minutes, especially since he faces a Portland team posting a 27th OPRK against opposing wings.
