Introducing NBA Play, the exciting new hub for daily interactive basketball games for non-stop action beyond the buzzer.
Starting Christmas Day, fans can play interactive games, challenge friends and share their scores — all for free exclusively in the NBA App. NBA Play will be accessible with a single click from the NBA App homepage.
Discover six interactive games, with new versions launching daily at 9 a.m. ET. Here is a breakdown of each game:
NBA Rank
Showcase your NBA knowledge. Fans are presented with five players, teams or events to rank in order based on the question given. The goal is to achieve the correct ranking in the fewest attempts possible.
Incorrect guesses will reveal which portion of the submitted answer, if any, is in the correct location.
NBA Full Court Guess
Fans will receive five attempts to guess the NBA player based on three clues, which can range from a variety of different topics. Some clues may include a player’s nickname, accolades and awards, career highs and more.
The player can be either a current or former player, so study up on your NBA history.
NBA Player Path
First, a player is presented with a list of teams that they have played for throughout their career. The mission? Put the teams in order starting from the player’s rookie days to their current team, or final team if they are retired.
NBA Blast
In this arcade game, fans can mix and match basketball objects to obtain three or more icons in a row. If you collect four or more items, you receive a boost. Swipe the boost to clear a row of icons and earn extra points. The boost comes in the form of the Larry O’Brien trophy and can move horizontally or vertically.
Fans will receive stars for reaching the minimum required score per level to advance to the next one. Meeting the minimum score will get you one star, but the higher your score is, the more stars you receive!
Participants can play levels again to improve their score per level to increase their total high score.
NBA IQ
A race against time! With 2 minutes on the clock, fans are challenged to fill out the leaderboard, tackling questions like “Who dominated the Top 5 scorers chart in the 2018-2019 season?” Precision and speed become your dynamic duo as participants rapidly type in the names of players making swift selections to conquer the list.
The goal is to get the answers correct while finishing as quickly as possible.
NBA Hoop Connect
The test of connections! Two players take the spotlight, urging participants to identify a shared teammate.
Each answer will earn a rarity score on a scale of 1-100, with 100 being the best. The rarity score is weighted based on a player’s career stats, how long they played with the two teammates and how recently the player played in the NBA. Fewer games and lower stats lead to a higher rarity score. Share your scores and compete with friends.
With NBA ID, members can also earn badges for their first time voting, playing games and more.
