NBA All-Star x HBCU Student Showcase: Anwar Cushnie

Anwar Cushnie is a recent graduate of Pensole Lewis College of Business and Design where he majored in Graphic Design.

Bridging All Gaps

My artwork powerfully represents HBCU pride and the profound significance of my personal experience through a combination of surrealism and dystopian elements. The mountains symbolize the challenges faced, while the brain represents the collective intellect and resilience of the HBCU community. The circling clouds playfully suggest the continuous pursuit of knowledge, while the arrangement of Black students around the brain signifies unity and solidarity in the pursuit of higher education. This arrangement reflects the transformative journey of attending and graduating from an HBCU. My creation serves as a testament to the strength, intellect, and unity that can be discovered within the HBCU experience.
