NBA 2K24 Summer League: Bilal Coulibaly seals win for Wizards over Celtics

Seven double-digit scoring performances and a notable disparity in turnovers spearheaded the Washington Wizards, 103-98, victory over the Boston Celtics in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Sunday evening.

A highly competitive first half led to the Celtics going into intermission with a slim 52-51 advantage. However, the Wizards turned the tide in the third quarter, erasing their deficit and establishing a five-point lead going into the final period. Boston battled to get within three points with 29 seconds remaining, but a 15-footer by No. 7 overall pick Bilal Coulibaly sealed the win for Washington with 6.1 seconds left.

Justin Champagnie led the Celtics with a complete game of 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and one block. Jay Scrubb totaled 15 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Udoka Azubuike managed 14 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and one block. Rookie second-round selection Jordan Walsh delivered 12 points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal.

Ryan Rollins paced the Wizards with 17 points, complementing them with nine assists, three rebounds and five steals. Tristan Vukcevic and Johnny Davis both had 14 points while adding eight and four rebounds, respectively. Davis also recorded three assists and three steals. Quenton Jackson compiled 13 points, four assists, two rebounds and three steals. Coulibaly finished with 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block.

Coulibaly will face his former Mets 92 teammate, Victor Wembanyama as the Wizards will battle the Spurs on Tuesday night, while the Celtics are back in action against the Lakers on Wednesday night.
