Lance Stephenson reaches agreement with Los Angeles Lakers

Veteran guard/forward Lance Stephenson has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Lakers, Priority Sports & Entertainment announced via Twitter on Sunday.

Per various outlets, the deal is for one season at $4.5 million.

In addition to fleshing out the Lakers’ depth, the addition brings two of the NBA’s more notable antagonists together in Stephenson and LeBron James, who agreed to a four-year contract with the Lakers earlier in the evening.

The two have had numerous run-ins over the years, with Stephenson taking delight in goading James despite their massive disparity in talent. James, however, has tried to downplay their history, something he’ll certainly continue to do now that they’ll be teammates.

“I just want to win, man,” James said last year, as reported by ESPN. “That’s all that matters to me. I got no personal problems with nobody.”

In addition to his skills as an agitator, Stephenson averaged 9.2 points last season with the Pacers.
